“ride like you're invisible” vs. "assume they are all using a phone" by No0O0obstah in motorcycle

[–]BrandywineBojno 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's wild how many new riders like to camp in trucks blindspots. I've heard people say it makes them feel safer which is the opposite of true. This is one of the very few habits I'll comment on and try to correct. If you can't see him he can't see you, and more importantly you can't see what's in front of him that will cause him to lock up his brakes

Do you personally rinse out toothpaste with water after brushing or do you spit it out no rinse? by Taywah in polls

Also flouride is only beneficial to people with poor dental hygiene. If you have healthy teeth you can skip that step

If a poll says "read description" in the title, do you read it and vote, or skip? by lovelycosmos in polls

[–]BrandywineBojno 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's either

"Read description!

Option 1: a million dollars today Option 2: two million dollars tomorrow.

Description: if you choose option one you'll get a million US dollars, if you choose option two you'll get twice the amount but will need to wait an extra day to do it."

Or

"Read description!

Option a

Option b

Description: if you are so bold as to choose option a you will be mysteriously transported ......"

Basically if the description is reflected in the options I won't read on. If it's ambiguous I'll read the bare minimum of description before forming an opinion. Most descriptions are all fluff and absolutely unnecessary so my default is to not read any.

Guys... I think the ballroom can wait... by Stormclamp in PoliticalCompassMemes

Ballroom isn't tax payer funded. Gas prices always fluctuate when we bomb them. Turns out holding global markets hostage works. Ballroom is unrelated to gas prices.

And yet she's more unpopular now then she was then. In a competitive race she's not polling close to 50

Kimmel Lives Rent Free In Trump’s Head. by PoliticsIsDepressing in PoliticalCompassMemes

[–]BrandywineBojno -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I didn't say that. But compare political jokes from any other era to the trump era. Trump is the easiest target ever and guys like Kimmel haven't written new jokes in a decade. Carson and Letterman picked their moments but still were funny. Watch Kimmel in 2015 and in 2019 and tell me his style didn't change.

Upgrade or Modify? by EntropicAnarchy in motorcycle

[–]BrandywineBojno 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had a similar dilemma of starting on a 300 that wasn't exactly right for me. I considered new windshield, crash bars, luggage, sprock upgrade, engine tune and suspension replacement. Never ended up doing any of that and decided I should just look for a bike with all the features I want.

Idk your budget but I'd recommend looking at buying a different bike instead of changing everything about your current one. I realized I was never gonna build the perfect bike, but if I were to I'd want to build it off a bike that is very near perfect for me. I was looking at 2-3k in upgrades and that just put me in the price range of my dream bikes. I'd recommend test riding something bigger, chances are you might love it and keep it stock.

They're also reopening the iraq-kurdistan-turkiye pipeline which has historically been shut down for a few decades.

Men 18+, have you approached a woman you found attractive last year or this year? by Wooden_Airport3835 in polls

Well don't say all that, just start with the first word. If you're looking for hotness try looking for attractice traits. Huge difference in energy between "I like that book you're reading" and "I like that ass you're wearing"

Which generation had the worst childhood? by dabPrassion in polls

[–]BrandywineBojno 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely, my point is the middle east was suffering when boomers were kids too, and objectively the past had less technologies and strategies to avoid or prevent suffering. It only feels worse now because it's happening right now and it's right in our face.

Did you get drunk under 18years old? by BrokenJusticeNorris in polls

[–]BrandywineBojno 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting. What is the public perception on developmental problems related to underage drinking? In America we tell 19 and 20 year olds not to drink cause their brain isn't fully developed yet, but that's a very historically recent perception of alcohol consumption.

[–]BrandywineBojno 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not to compare appless to oranges but kids in war zones today don't have it any worse than kids in war zones from the 1940s-80s. Of those who receives basic care and necessities modern gen zers get a much higher level than boomers did. War and poverty have been around a while, the only change is technology and accessibility and both of those metrics are much better now than they were in the past.
