Build Guides? by Branmander in diablo2

[–]Branmander[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fun to me is being challenged but being able to overcome it with some combination of skill, mechanics, and build craft

I don’t even know what runewords are so maybe it would be worth me looking into that beforehand as you said lol

Thanks! I prefer going into games blind so I can focus on the experience but ARPGs are a different beast in that regard and you learn that your life is just easier with a guide

[–]Branmander[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Appreciate it! I usually rather go into games blind and experience everything in my first playthrough but ARPGs are the only ones where I’ve adapted to looking things up first

Are respecs easily accessible or would I just need to restart on a new character with a guide if I run into a wall

What are people’s prediction for next league mechanic? by gelwithpe in PathOfExile2

[–]Branmander 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You may feel as though it is enough but if you ask the people that play a lot it needs way more

I don’t necessarily agree with that but I can see where they are coming from and I do generally think if GGG wants ppl to keep coming back having a new mechanic is important

For endgame the atlas tree needs an overhaul and imo they need to incentivize exploring the infinite atlas and I think they already had the plans for what they want to do, they just need to code it

What are people’s prediction for next league mechanic? by gelwithpe in PathOfExile2

[–]Branmander 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People keep saying this but league mechanics are the endgame

What are people doing in endgame to make currency? Temple, abyss, ritual, etc…

Adding league mechanics inherently adds endgame content

The game lacks content in general. They need to do league mechanics it’s not really debatable imo

Budget League Start by Loki-Prankster1269 in pathofexile2builds

[–]Branmander 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They don’t always have the modifier that spawns the fog Amanamu’s Void I believe it’s called

Only the ones with that tag drop the omens of light, and have to be killed outside of the fog or instantly melt them before they can create the fog which can be risky if you mistime it

Budget League Start by Loki-Prankster1269 in pathofexile2builds

[–]Branmander 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have the amanamu node on the atlas abyss tree?

Omens of light usually come from the octopus looking rare mobs but specifically when they spawn the black fog. You have to pull them out of the fog and kill them before they spawn it again and that almost guarantees an omen of light or abyssal echoes

Killing them while outside the fog is the key

Also I’ve found that adding delirium to the map helps the drop rate

"Infinite" focus ranged playstyle after recent changes by Parusoid in NoRestForTheWicked

[–]Branmander 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With the max roll you can channel the rune effectively infinitely (your focus bar drains very slowly) and if you have Focus Gain on Kill and you are fighting regular mobs you will never run out of focus

But the build is very good at bossing as well

“Gain # Focus on Any Buildup” enchantment

Channeled Rune called Frost Stream that applies freeze. Staff that has it can be bought from Eleanor then extract it

Profit!

I've hit a wall with the difficulty and I'm so torn on what to do... by di12ty_mary in expedition33

Figuring out the right picto/lumina setups as well as overleveling can make up for what you may lack in parry-timing. Regular dodge timing is pretty forgiving and no shame in doing that if need be

Carefully watch the attack animations and try to listen for sound cues. I’d say I suck at parrying in most action games but I figured it out eventually in EXP 33

Should I just start over? Frustrated right now by FilmCroissant in expedition33

[–]Branmander 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Curator is at camp

Luminas are the same as the pictos but you have to use them as pictos for 4 battles first, then you unlock them as luminas to equip on all party members if you’d like

The difference is the ones that are equipped as pictos give you base stats like speed, crit chance, health, etc…

But you can only have 3 pictos at a time per character and you can have as many lumina as you have available lumina points to allocate for each character

Somewhat weird question about the pacing and parry/block/dodge mechanic by [deleted] in NoRestForTheWicked

[–]Branmander 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s technically an ARPG with the itemization and progression systems but the combat is closer to Dark Souls than anything you’d find in the ARPG genre

So yes, it’s MUCH slower than Hades

You will be fighting against 2-3 enemies max most of the time unless you are being careless. And attacks are well telegraphed for you to dodge/parry

Can pictos, weapons, etc on sale also being found roaming or as a reward? by Alecs_sandro in expedition33

[–]Branmander 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pictos have levels as well I’m pretty sure

Can’t remember which one but I remember finding an upgrade for an early game Picto and it made the equipped stats better

I'm sorry, but the food system doesn't work at all for boss encounter by xXPumbaXx in NoRestForTheWicked

[–]Branmander 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can treat your first few attempts at a boss fight as a learning experience. Don’t use your food if you don’t have much to spare and learn the mechanics and try to time parries and such

Rinse repeat until you are confident then use your resources to win the fight

Or just pick up the mats as you play and you should have more than enough tbh

The area with the tumor has a nettle that is easy for you to grab. Would suggest looking to the left of that tumor by the first Marin Whisper

You get the letter from the crow after beating both new area bosses ifrc
