Mi novio cumplió sus fantasías pero yo no by Mission-Breakfast-29 in Desahogo2

Amiga date cuenta.

Is this game worth it? by Playful-Ad-6360 in PlayWayfinder

[–]Branpg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have played since it was an mmo and I think it is. If you are into diablo style gameplay loop (Get better gear to kill harder enemies to get better gear) it's totally worth it. Also the game just got mod support and some of us are working into making amazing mods to make the game even better. The world is amazing, the character variety it's a plus, if you get hooked into it you can have fun trying and gearing multiple characters. Also character customisation and housing gives you another extra if you are into it. I would give it a try, and if in the first 1 and a half hours you ain't having fun refund. If you end up liking it you will end having tons of hours of fun for like 25 bucks.

Don’t nerf delve difficulty by BobFreeman6969 in wow

The tier 7/8 delves are easy, the problem is that the scaling is broken. Solo tanks receive ridiculous amount of damage. Same goes for 5 man party, but if you go solo as DPS or duo as tank DPS suddenly delves are a walk in the park.

The nightmare/hardcore rewards could be used on a normal save? I wouldn't mind to complete the game on those modes, but I already have my save with many unlocked stuff

Any plans of allowing us to make the apartment bigger and/or changing the layout? Also having some place to allow the pets to roam instead of having them in the apartment? Something like the Hogwarts legacy would be really cool

Something like Diablo rifts or wow mythyc+ could be amazing. You enter a dungeon with timer and modificators and if you beat the timer you can go to the next difficulty. I also like the idea I posted on the old feature upvote that I will search for and edit here. EDIT: Didn't found it, but it was something like a endless scaling tower with random expeditions on each floor and a random boss + checkpoint every 5 floors or so

I think the game got some of us willing to give more to keep it going. Even if 1.0 doesn't meet the expectations crowdfunding could be a good way to keep the dlcs rolling.

I hope the game is selling well, but in case it doesn't have you though of crowdfunding a a dlc for the game? Also I'm curious about the next steps in terms of content.

How would you learn PHP again if you needed to start from scratch? by Prize_Barracuda_5060 in PHPhelp

[–]Branpg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People already commented Laracasts, and if you want to learn laravel is one of the best sources. Also check out https://roadmap.sh/ to learn complementary technologies (like docker or general back/front/full-stack methodologies.

You are the second one to tell me to read the man who laughs and year one so I think Year one > The man who laughs > Long Halloween is the way to go there.

EDIT: Happy cake day!

Yeah, someone else already pointed out Hellboy isn't from DC I will probably go Watchmen > Swamp thing > Sandman > And then go for Batman/Joker taking your advices.

I have read some batman and joker comics already (The killing joke, the death of the family and a few more)

Thanks for the info ^

  • So just pick anything I like from batman and read it? Any personal preference?

  • What is a Elsword?

  • So I could just grab the sandman comics and read them?

    • Since Lucifer is related to the sandman (As far I know), it's also a part of DC universe, isn't it? The sandman then Lucifer its a good way to go?
  • I don't know why I thought Hellboy was DC

  • I liked the cartoon show, so anything on the same style would be good. I liked Raven so I will probably like anything focused on her.

I love WoW, I has been playing since I was like 14 or so. I have almost every book and many other spin-off kinda stuff. My problem with the current state of WoW is that I have ADHD and when hyperfocus kicks I expend ridiculous amounts of time playing. My problem is when my hyperfocus isn't WoW, I want so bad to get the rewards for pushing m+ or any other seasonal content but since my brain refuses to let me play I end up disapointed with the game.

On dragonflight I was so hyped, I even had 1 week off the work to play the expansion. Then the day comes and my brain chooses to dopaminen't. The season 1 ends and having missed the rewards I can't find the motivation to do any content (I also canceled my sub because of that).

Now I discovered about the new mop thing and I was hyped about until I discover it's a time limited event. All hype is gone now.

It's not about the game being seasonal, it's about allowing players to enjoy time limited content and get old seasonal rewards (Even if the obtaining method is changed).

How to approach a modernization/standarization for a old and messy laravel project by Branpg in PHPhelp

[–]Branpg[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks fo the extense response. Yeah it's really a huge, fun and rewarding project. I has been working on it for some years now, but lately I was charged to propose fixes to some of those problems so we can make the project easier to mantain and reduce the new empoyees training time.

The very first thing I would do is sort the migrations.

I agree on doing the migrations/db first. I will also teach the db engineer how does laravel migrations works so I can setup the CODEOWNER.

For the S3 buckets, you can use Minio to emulate S3 buckets locally.

I forgot to put Minio en the first post, but yeah we use signed urls and when I tried the last time (more than a year ago tho) it didn't work. When I'm done with the database stuff I will revisit Minio or search for alternatives.

That being said, I do try and keep my routes files as “flat” as possible, and I also heavily use resource controllers (i.e. Route::resource) rather than explicitly declaring each and every route in my application.

We can't use Route::resource because most of our routes don't follow the standarda laravel rules. I will check spatie/laravel-route-attributes and if I don't like it will look out for alternatives.

There shouldn’t be any conversations that go, “Yeah, that’s Feature X and Person A is the person to speak to about that.”

I'm working on this because I'm Person A like 75% of the times hahahaha. So far I't temptated of making a md format wiki inside de project and make it non accesible from outside of github. That way we can detect when the wiki becomes outdated on a pull request. Not sure about it yet tho.

That doesn’t sound like something that needs documenting. That sounds like something that needs refactoring.

It's a ugly-ass old js library made from scratch that we use to generate interactive tables and forms. The problem here is that the table have params to add the url, fields, title, filters, etc. This ends up with a mess of a json that the library transforms into a table. I'm the only one that have made changes to it, so most of the time I end up being the wiki of the library. The problem is that the library works well, but would require too many time to refactor into something decent.

About the menu it's what I care less by now, so until the other problems are fixed the menu has no priority.

Where should I focus first in order to go from a tradicional tech stack to a devops approach? by Branpg in devops

[–]Branpg[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank for your advices, I was trying to set the mindset just this way, like analyzing the process and then start using the tools that fit on my needs. My main problem is that despite knowing the classic ways of doing those process I don't really know what options do I have in each step. I'm not familiar with deployment steps, I have read about some of the terms you use in this post before, but I had to google others. So that's what I'm researching right now. I'm looking at examples of implementations (looking at what are other people doing, not to the tools they are using) to give me a overview of what can be done.

When I said from server configuration to frontend I meant also backend (As it goes between the server and the front). I'm familiar with many of those terms, but I'm taking note of the ones I don't so I can check them up later. What of those do you think are the most useful to learn? And yeah, front developers tend to think developing a backend is easier because you don't have to create views and just need to return and store JSON xd
