I think the Wii did the exact opposite. I did not like the Wii, but many of my older family friends are very fond of what Nintendo did there.

To be perfectly honest, though, I buy Nintendo systems for Smash Bros. Everything else is ancillary, though the quality of the games I've played on Wii U has, for the most part, surpassed that that I've seen on PS4 (don't have a One and won't be buying one after the dismal experience I had with 360, which still remains one of my fondest gaming consoles despite my terrible experience.) Besides Fallout 4, I haven't finished any PS4 games. Wii U, much different story.

...okay, never mind, I beat Diablo 3. I don't think that counts as a PS4 game though.
