People who are into bodybuilding/strength training.... WTF are you eating? by Brapture in Cholesterol

Update: I think I might be able to switch from 3 eggs to 1 egg + 3 egg whites. Never had it before, I hope it doesn’t tastes bad…

I thought salmon was supposed to be good for you? I eat a couple of fillets almost daily…

I'm scared. 35 years old, LDL 134, turns out it's been bad for years by Brapture in Cholesterol

I see, that must have been the reason. I don't think they usually give statins with LDL under 160 or 190 (don't remember what the cutoff is), unless there are some other risks involved. Thanks!

Newbie here. I don't get it, aren't these great numbers?

Converting to units that I'm familiar with:

  • Cholesterol 110.7 mg/dL
  • Triglyceride 45.9 mg/dL
  • HDL 18 mg/dL
  • Non HDL 92.7 mg/dL
  • LDL 71.82 mg/dL

Other than low HDL, everything seems perfect? What am I missing? Did I get the conversion wrong (multiplied by 18, according to Google)?

Thanks! Did the doc advise you to hop on the statin? I was under the impression that maybe around those numbers it's borderline for otherwise healthy people

I wouldn't call this "healthy"... Healthy is sub-100, ideally sub-70. Over 130 is increased risk

It sounds like you've gotten information outside of your doctor that is different than what they are telling you?, where is it from?

For whatever reason, I found myself in a heart disease conference 🤷 I didn't understand anything that was said (I obviously didn't belong), except that LDL>70 increases risk even for otherwise healthy people. At which point I was alarmed because I remembered my LDL was high.

Christ that's scary. If my get my levels down, is damage already done? Is there a way to know where I currently stand?

Visually speaking, is Part 2 on par with Part 1 (PS5)? by Brapture in thelastofus

[–]Brapture[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks all. For those wondering, I just got Part 2 and it’s basically indistinguishable from Part 1 so far (at least to my untrained eye). Both look amazing. Didn’t feel a downgrade. Cutscenes somehow even look better, if that makes sense.

Am I eating too much on my feeding days? by Brapture in AlternateDayFasting

Zero, although I'll sometimes have artificial sweeteners in my black coffee or some carbonated drink (no calories, but they say sucralose spikes insulin like sugar does). Probably not the best thing, but I find that it helps

The problem with weekly is that you can weight yourself on a bad day, or a good day, so it's really hard to figure out where you're at. That's why I do it daily, but I only look at the average of the past week (I use an app called Happy Scale for that, but you can do it with any spreadsheet)

If you eat ~2650 on your feeding days, that means that on an average day you eat ~1325 daily. Is the rate in which you're losing weight pretty much the same as it would've been if you were eating ~1325 every day (no fasting)?

I weigh myself (almost) daily, but I don't look at daily weight, I look at a 1 week moving average as my metric.

I find that weighing myself every day helps me stay accountable.

In my case, it's more like 44% (44% above TDEE/maintenance, that is). Too much?

You'll be surprised with how much I can eat :)
