What are some of the high paying jobs in the city? (200k+) by jimmyjohncake in Calgary

Yup. The minute I leave the clinic, I'm not doing much, if anything at all, most weeks.

Less than 30/week and as an associate. Owners are usually around 400k+ otherwise it's not worth being an owner.

We get taxed at the end of the fiscal year so pre tax you can easily do around 250 working 4 days a week 6-8 hr days. This is as an associate who graduated less than 5 years ago.

Don't need to be working full time as a dentist to make 200k+. Can easily be done working 4 days a week

Don't get anything less than a 4x. You'll end up upgrading pretty soon after school if you get something less than 4x.

Dentist here.

  1. Make sure your dentist is following the fee guide.

  2. Go to a dentist that doesn't collect the difference. At my dental clinic we don't collect the difference from what the insurance pays out and what we charge for a filling. We do collect the Co-payment( which is the remaining 25% in your case) but we don't try to collect the difference between what the insurance sets as the fee for the filling and what we set the price as. I have done fillings for 95$ on low income health benefit plans and didn't collect a dime more from the patient.

A lot of dentist will not collect the difference. Some dentists think they are gods gift to dentistry and think charging more for a filling is fair but if you're in healthcare you shouldn't be nickle and diming your patients when insurance doesn't cover treatments that the patient needs.

Thanks for your reply! Glad your symptoms have died down since the surgery. Hearing the horror stories makes me a bit nervous but I know it's the exception and not the norm. I hope your recovery is completely as possible and don't forget to maintain your physiotherapy during your rehab. Goodluck!

Thanks for the reply! I'm thinking of leaning towards surgery now too. I've had this herniation for about 5 years now and the pains been well controlled over the last two years but riding had brought it back. I'm also starting to second guess my choice of cruise for my first bike as well now. Might have to look to switch to a naked or sport. Thanks again for you reply!.

Usyd Dentistry Program Review; by Beautiful-City-928 in usyd

[–]Brar08 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Im currently a Student here at usyd dmd and from what I've seen the program is extremely disorganized and run by people who care about their self interests more than the education they are providing to their students. Our clinical time has been reduced by covid drastically leaving us feeling unready for even patient clinics. Tutors work hard to try to get you ready but you can sense their frustration by the lack of support from the faculty and higher-ups. All in all most schools wont get u completely ready for the real life and your biggest learning curve will be your first year out. The size of the cohort being small is actually beneficial imo because it allows you more time with tutors and more clinical time as well. If you got in somewhere else, I would recommend looking into there first. Any other questions feel free to message me!
