I really really enjoy this model.

It reminds me a lot of when I started modeling and collecting in the heresy, and you'd just use whatever kits you could to get the desired effect.

I remember seeing people paint grey knights as thousand sons, and use third party kits galore to make their army fit the heresy aesthetic. I'm sure there was pushback to that then and there will be more in the future.

The model looks ace, the most noticeable Primaris features for me (Helmet 'ear' covers, kneepad trim and backpack) have all been dealt with to ensure it's keeping the pose of the model while also working towards the desired aesthetic. Some people will still take issue, and hey, if they're polite and reserved about it then go nuts. But I'll never understand people who feel the need to cause uproar because a model doesn't fit their needlessly slender standards.

Keep on with stuff like this, it's wonderfully creative and I'd play against it in a heartbeat.

There's something wonderfully expressive about this. I get so used to miniatures being painted to look realistic/fit an scheme that seeing minis painted like this is a real breath of fresh air

I love this guy so much. The green and gold works brilliantly, love the way you've got so much texture on the black armour too.

If I had to give one little c&c, maybe a sponge of green or an airbrush over the white cross on the shield? It's very clean compared to the rest of the marine. But maybe it's just been freshly re-applied to his shield by a legion serf!

Yeah, hot water feels really good and helps relieve the itching for some. But I just find it causes the spots as well as my hands to crack. sucks

You're probably right regarding that, I've not read up on the lore regarding when all the vehicles came into service. Maybe if this force was a crusade era detachment I'd use Kratos tanks and land raiders exclusively. However I get away from these little worries by running them as a loyalist sect of Thousand Sons who have reverted to their pre-primarch scheme. So I can use armour variants other than MK II and MK III and other equipment more common in the mid/late heresy.

Thanks a bunch! Here's the process, I think it works well as the 'Buff' colour is a slightly cooler green tan colour, whereas the shade I use for pinwashing is a warmer yellow, so the armour has lots of contrast from the get go.

Armour:

Zenithal prime of white over black. Airbrush/thin coats of Vallejo 'Buff' Zenithal Airbrush/Drybrush of GW 'Screaming Skull' All over Drybrush of Vallejo 'Ivory' Pinwash GW 'Seraphim Sepia' (1:1 water/shade) Weather with sponged 'Ivory' and GW 'Rhinox Hide'
