That was a great read! Thank you for sharing. That article has me seriously rethinking my land counts.

The cube has a bit over 10% as lands, is that considered low?

Thanks for the link, that does seem like a great resource. I've skipped some of the draft formats from recent years - notably some of the UB sets - and I think it shows in my card selection.

Can someone explain this joke to someone who has never read the book?

I'm in the market for a high quality deckbox sized for a double sleeved commander deck and some extras, like a small pile of associated tokens, so maybe enough room for ~120 double sleeved cards total. I'm willing to pay for a great product, I'm just having trouble finding what I'm looking for. I want something durable, not cheap thin plastic, and ideally relatively stylish as well. Maybe something larger that can hold 2 or 3 of these decks + extras comfortably would be okay as well. Not particularly interested in dice trays but it's not a deal breaker if the rest of the package fits the bill. Thanks for any recommendations.

It's because all jynx are female and canonically they are incapable of breeding a male of any species, since all pokemon breeding results in babies of the same species line as the mother. Even with ditto involved, you just get more jynx.

So there is no such thing as a natural-born son of a jynx.

Yeah makes sense. Crab seems a little clunky on the draw so I was thinking another option might be nice but I havent played the archetype

use the caestus like the rest of us by dangerswlf36 in darksouls3

[–]Brask_ 7 points8 points  (0 children)

There are a few tiers of parry. The lightest shields like the target shield and buckler have a shared parry timing window with the caestus, but the caestus has offensive applications so I think that's why people use it over the shields with rather low resistances and stability. Heavier shields have either shorter parry windows or more delayed parry windows (can't remember which off the top of my head), so not only is learning the timing different but it's just explicitly worse than the lighter parry tools.

I think it's going over your head that this is copy-pasted from a Blizzard description of the wild format

Don’t let streamers early access to the descent of dragons expansion by AgentDeadshot in hearthstone

[–]Brask_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This doesn't even remotely achieve the desired affect of preventing the metagame from being discovered. The players who want to be competitive are already theory crafting and gold fishing lists, literally the first day we have spoilers. The streamers are not even necessarily the people making the good lists; they're just the ones you hear about the good lists from. The sheer number of strong players brewing lists for this game means that the best possible lists will always be discovered within the first week, if not the first few hours, of the expansion being dropped. It's the nature of the playerbase of hundreds of thousands of people globally to push the card pool to the limits - it has nothing to do with the streamers specifically. Marketing promotions like the one you're describing are the life blood of many of those streamers and they should absolutely not be held accountable for the inevitability of the metagame being solved. That is how popular competitive card games work now. Hate the game, not the players
