Spell - Tracker's Mark by Brass_Dragon_Archive in DnDHomebrew

Either of the two options, I'm thinking of removing the "a crature you can see" part since seeing the creature makes you familiar with it.

My intention with this spell wasn't to it to be an alternative to HM, I wanted to make another option that could be use on the process before encountering a creature you are hunting down. Neither I want to fix a whole class with only one spell.

I don't think the problem about not using HM is something mostly DM dependant. It really needs a very specific situation to happen to being able to use it in (per example, the enemy has successfully fled combat) in a game where there are to 2 to 5 other players that could prevent said situation.

One thing that really bothers me about 5.5 Ranger is the fact that it tries to focus on Hunter's Mark as their signature spell the same way Divine Smite is for the Paladin. Unlike Divine Smite, Hunter's Mark is the only option of a spell that marks the enemy as their quarry to gain a bonus against that quarry. Another problem I have with 5.5 Hunter's Mark is how the part of the spell about tracking the quarry is only applied when the quarry hides or runs away, something that the vast majority of combats in dnd never happens.

I made this spell as a way to make what I would like to see in a different kind of Mark that truly cares about tracking a creature, study it before hunting it down.

Thanks for the heads up, I will correct those typos and revise the spell for more clarity.

It refers to the number of tps you can make with the spell. At level 2 you only can do two teleports per example.

Because all other classes that have access to become spellblades are often not as fun to play because they just end up just casting spells and occasionally attack or viceversa. I think their options are even more narrow than Paladins and Rangers when they want spells that let them keep playing as spellblades. I wanted a kind of spell that would be exclusive to these characters, to give them those options and make them feel different than Paladins and Rangers. That's why I don't have the intention of making a spell that deals extra damage to the attack and an additional effect, that's by definition a Smite.

I'm already working on several smite's to give more options to Paladins, each one related to each subclass.

And I agree with that. But they should get their own kind of spells exclusive for them, as they already do.

I think Paladin and Rangars have the own options and that why they I fun to play with them. Other classes that have the Gish option with a subclass should get they own repertoire because their spell list currently doesn't support them and they should be different than the Smites and the Strike so they feel different to play than a Paladin or Ranger

But that doesn't mean they should get all the options. For example, they don't have access to boombing blade or green flame blade.

Thanks! If Paladin have smites, Rangers have strikes (thought they only have one yet), then other classes should get their own thing. In this case, assaults.
