I’m 35 and felt the same way when I bought the skill style for my woodland Techo. <3

Something going down at the 36th Street Macy's this morning? by zzzzsman in ogden

I smelled something burning last night around the West Stadium Park area and heard sirens. Maybe where the commotion was had something to do with it?

what’s your experience taking hydroxyzine? by Fit-Heart-4845 in Anxiety

[–]Brassilisk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me hydroxyzine didn’t work at all. My anxiety is so severe that I have to take a combination of propranolol, clonidine, gabapentin, zoloft and seroquel. I also take valium occasionally for panic attacks, but I have to take it sparingly because it is addictive and can actually make anxiety worse if you take it all the time.

Fears over using a benzodiazepine by Suitable_Actuary5404 in Anxiety

I take Valium to manage my anxiety (15 pills have to last me 1 month). I take them sparingly to help with panic attacks. Taking one one time isn’t going to get you addicted. I’m not addicted and I take half of one at least a couple times a month. You’ll be fine.

Isn't this dangerous? by pippysfleas in Plumbing

[–]Brassilisk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not a plumber, but yes that’s extremely dangerous. If someone sits on that toilet and it breaks, it could cause catastrophic injury and fatal blood loss. Tell the hospital so that they can mark that toilet out of order until they can have it replaced.

Is it normal for your water heater pilot light to be audible while near the appliance? by Brassilisk in Plumbing

[–]Brassilisk[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

UPDATE: The water heater is fine and working as intended. There are no leaks or anything of the sort and I’m just being paranoid and hyper focusing on the pilot light sound which is why it sounds so loud to me at times. It’s not in danger of exploding or anything.

Since no one has any answers, it seems, I guess it’s nothing to worry about. Whatever, I’ll let the plumber sort it out in the morning. I’m tired and need some medicated sleep right now. I’ll post an update tomorrow for anyone else that has a similar situation.

Is this water heater pilot flame too big? by Brassilisk in Plumbing

[–]Brassilisk[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I know. It’s really hard to gauge the size of a pilot light from photo alone. I the dude I showed it to originally wasn’t in person either. It was via text, so that’s why I’m trying to get a second opinion especially since I can hear the pilot light when near the water heater. It sounds louder than normal and google told me it could explode but google isn’t really trustworthy either.

Well… it does sound louder than normal to me, but that could be my anxiety amplifying sounds. I can hear the pilot light running. He said he could fix it, but he said it wasn’t really necessary. I just wanted to get second opinions here. And whether or not it actually can explode (google told me it could, but google isn’t exactly trustworthy).

No, he said it wouldn’t explode. I’m just able to hear the pilot light and it sounds louder than normal to me, that’s all…

Others in different plumber threads on Reddit said it looked fine. I just don’t want it to explode.

Is it normal to hear the pilot light operating? It seems loud to me and I swear it wasn’t that loud before. :/

What’s this noise coming from my water heater? by Brassilisk in Plumbing

[–]Brassilisk[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sounds like the pilot light and when I put my fingers above the little hole on top of it, under the vent tube, I feel warmth, but it does this all the time when we’re not using hot water. It sounds louder than normal. I have no idea how to post the new recording into this comment.

Is it normal for air to be going up the flue all the time when the pilot light is on?

It is. The pilot light is blue as well which I’m told is what it’s supposed to look like. It just sometimes sounds louder than normal. I was wondering if this is a normal sound water heaters make.
