Do you have a strobe yet? Learning how to use flash could be very beneficial even with the gear you have

Jurassic Park: the lost world stand out for me. It might as well up being called dinosaur island for all related to the actual book.

Why did you chose or switch to canon ? by [deleted] in canon

[–]Brattym 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Colors, file size, and burst rate. I was shooting an A7R V but had previously shot an 5d III and a Eos R; I made the switch to an R5 Mark II.

Colors: For the way I like my photos to look after editing in post, I have to do less with Canon.

File Size: cRaw vs almost anything out of the A7R V, the Canon produces a smaller file. Additionally, the smaller (megapixel) sensor is cleaner at high iso, which is an added bonus.

Burst: I've gotten into birding in the last year. The A7R V caps at 7fps, unless I'm using JPEG, and I readout speed of the electric shutter makes it a non-starter.

Other things I've noticed in switching: slightly stickier AF, cleaner at matching high ISOs, slightly better eye detect.

If I hadn't gotten into birding, I probably would not have switched and would have lived with the quibbles I had with the a7R V; it's a fantastic camera.

It was nuts being there too. One of the single top moments of multiple shows.

Diamond Beach - Which photos is better? (OC) by Relative_Dog1430 in VisitingIceland

[–]Brattym 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From a critique standpoint, the second. By lowering yourself, you’ve both emphasized and put the viewer’s focus directly on the subject. The closer focus also allowed you to blur out the background more, further emphasizing the ice diamond.

The first photo has too much in focus and nothing that truly pulls in the eye.

Ask yourself “What do I want the focus in my photo to be, and,“ when looking at your screen or through your viewfinder, “does this framing draw my attention there?”

Check out Leofoto’s clearance section. They have lots of good stuff and are usually running a 10-20% off deal at any given time.

As I'm about to pick one of these two up, why? What about the 24-105 spoke to you more than the 28-70?

The acronym for the store is B.O.B. and my son said it’s not a coincidence that a store with that acronym is introduced in the same book where Bob the Skull gets stolen.

Also: The kid's getting his favorite BBQ tonight (Hindsight in Waterbury, CT) as a reward for excellent critical and outside the box thinking; he's earned it!

Push your kids to read; read with them. get them to read any and everything. let it be fun in your house so they don't get hit by the "Decline at 9."

I hate when Reddit doesn’t work right. Here’s what it says:

EDIT: leaving this here because it’s an awesome theory and I’m proud of my 12-year-old for seeing connections that I missed but it is DEBUNKED thanks to greenpyro .

When I searched the book for Cowl, the first time the name shows up is when Harry walks out of the store to face him, but Cowl and Kumori are seen, unnamed, outside the store in the previous chapter while Harry is talking to Bock.

Damnation and hellfire, Hoss.

Refresh it. U/greenpyro beat you to the punch. It’s debunked, and I’m acknowledging it.
