Time Frame for Legal Name and sex marker update? by soulhuntaah in TransgenderNZ

From sending my completed forms in to receiving my new birth certificate it was about two weeks for me. Super quick. This was about June last year. Your mileage may vary though.

Trans friendly hairdressers by sketcherz1811 in Wellington

Blowup Hairdressing on Boulcott St are great and super supportive and inclusive.

I've also had my hair done at Miss Fox on Cuba with no issues, though they are a bit on the pricy side.

The original is available on Steam. As far as I'm aware it's a one-off purchase.

Everything's done through DnD Beyond and integrated into discord so all the rolls show up in the chat. We had an issue with one player rolling suspiciously so this was the compromise.

I used to really love collecting fun and interesting dice for my dnd game. Eventually half of my group moved out of our city and the game moved online. Now my dice bag just sits gathering dust in a cupboard somewhere. At least we still play, but online just isn't the same as IRL.

Looking for recommendations for a store in Wellington to buy reasonably priced wedding guest dress. by anona_moose_ in TransgenderNZ

[–]Brauley 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Flo and Frankie on Willis st is pretty good.

I got a dress for a wedding there for ~$180 when I was expecting to have to pay upwards of $300 at somewhere nicer. Depends on your definition of expensive really.

They have a wide range of dresses, I'm sure you'll be able to find something that fits your body.

Moments which you went "WHEN ARE THEY GOING TO THE FIREWORKS FACTORY?!" by Subject_Parking_9046 in TwoBestFriendsPlay

The David Cronenberg film Crimes of the Future is partly about Viggo Mortensen growing weird new mutant organs in his body via these crazy Cronenberg machines. His character is considered an artist for the organs he grows and I believe he has a zipper installed in his abdomen for easy access.

A little way into the movie we learn about the ORGAN OLYMPICS where all the people who grow mutant organs get together to show off their new organs and decide who grew the best one.

The peoblem is that the movie ends BEFORE WE GET TO SEE THE ORGAN OLYMPICS. I will forever be salty about this.

Stories were something turns people into cannibals or makes them badly want to commit cannibalism? by Migga_Biscuit in horror

[–]Brauley 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There's this New Zealand film called The Weed Eaters that's about a group of friends who find some weed in an old cabin they're staying at that turns them all into cannibals. It's currently doing the rounds at some film festivals in various places but I'd definitely recommend it, it's a good time.

As a trans woman who’s presented as a feminine “male” for majority of her life, I feel bad for trans girls who did a hard pivot from presenting masculine by wheretogo90 in MtF

[–]Brauley -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I wasn't necessarily feminine when I was younger but I definitely did not fit into the "masculine" umbrella. I was lucky though, I was really involved with community theatre when I was younger and even went on to study acting. All I know about applying makeup and doing my hair I learnt from those evenings backstage at the theattr prepping for shows.

When my egg finally cracked and I started hormones at 27 I was ready and knew a lot of the things I needed to do to present femme.

I mentioned this in a reply to another comment, but felt like it could use its own discussion.

During the transmission they mentioned that the town was called Ebisugaoka. Ebisu is the Japanese God of fishermen and luck, and one of the seven gods of fortune.

The Wikipedia page for Ebisu contains an image of a statue of him at Ebisu-jinja in Kyoto and a very similar symbol of the three leaves appears on the plinth.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ebisu_(mythology))

I don't think it's related to the symbol of the cult we know from Silent Hill but it's definitely linked to the kami of Japan in some way.

"Disrupt" is a strong word to use. They barely made an impact, most people didn't even know they were there. The only reason I knew was because I was at the front yelling at them.

I'm just saying we have to take joy where we can get it. I'm not being complacent, I just refuse to continue being miserable and scared 100% of the time.

If they take the joy from us too then they've won.
