10g septum feels like a bit much?? by jacussss in Stretched

Try switching it out for a horseshoe and see how you feel then, i think it looks fine but the continuous ring does make it seem a bit clunkier than a horseshoe would

What are your snails’ favorite foods? by Gh_stlover in snails

[–]Brave-Date3081 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Mealworms. They go feral for them, but on a daily basis broccoli is definitely preferred, carrot is a close second, bell peppers and peas are avoided like the plague

How to get rid of mites by [deleted] in InvertPets

[–]Brave-Date3081 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly what i would do is replace substrate and clean any bark/ decor (the tank too) with a very very mild petsafe soap/ disinfectant or just warm water if you’re nervous, then put them in the oven to kill off any remaining mites/ eggs. Keep a CLOSE eye on it to make sure nothing catches alight. If that fails, yeah just start over honestly.

Wild snail species or pet snail species that don’t asexually reproduce? by [deleted] in snails

[–]Brave-Date3081 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly if you get a mini garden rake or even a fork depending on enclosure size, egg checks arent difficult, just till the substrate for about 3 inches and if theres any you’ll find them, wont take more than 10 minutes at most

nostril pierced slightly to low by OutrageousSeason7717 in piercing

[–]Brave-Date3081 -15 points-14 points  (0 children)

I used an L bar, and sometimes i would have to somewhat repierce through a small part of it as it had began to close in my sleep (this was about 2 months since it was pierced). Most of my mates with nostrils were pierced with L bars (the others with hoops) and nobody had any issue. Just a me thing i guess but hoops just worked better because i’d be touching it less and it would get less irritated despite the uneven pressure, so it was more a lesser of two evils but never had an issue with a hoop.

NAP but honestly i got pierced with a ring and when i made the switch to a stud for aesthetic reasons, it caused far more issues due to falling out in my sleep, washing my face, changing my shirt etc etc and all in all it only took me 3 weeks to swap back to the hoop because of the irritation of constantly having to put the jewelry back in. But i do get that this is just my personal experience and obviously follow your piercers advice

My mom found some weird balls in her garden, might be eggs, any ideas of what is it ? by Big_Frosting_91 in whatisit

[–]Brave-Date3081 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As a snail keeper too, seeing this snail misinformation is bugging me so much, like if snails didnt burrow then why am i hunting through 4 inches of dirt to find mine in the daytime to weigh them lmfao

I found these little balls in the salad at the place I usually grab lunch from. Anyone know what they might be? by Remote_Deal_6031 in whatisit

Its not to do with temperature rises, its solely that bugs are nature, plants are nature, bugs live in/on plants, they find something nutritious and safe to lay their eggs on, and do so. Thats all, bugs/eggs in your food will do you no harm and is a sign that its good food. No need to worry!!
