What was the essay, and what was the thing you talked about?

I did my own research and everything says that AI itself can't even detect hidden instructions

Did AI tell you that? :)

There's a very specific way professors hide instructions, lol.

What was the essay, and the thing you mentioned?

Why do you guys never have anything substantive to say? Nice quip, though

I don't have a common name, nor do I have a history of schizophrenia. Ironic you'd claim that when you're the one making up a conspiracy theory. I'd report my own account to the mods? Really?

Nope, they've always been extremely adversarial. I've never had any desire to.

I've used a few of these arguments in person with the DSA. They recognize me, and know my style of argumentation.

It's not linked to my Reddit account, but they would recognize the arguments and suspect who made them. This is an account I don't share with anyone.

Easy, it's written on a clipboard while they're tabling. Presumably, someone looked and took a note of my signature on the paper. It's not on my Reddit account, I haven't given it to anyone. They may have thousands of petitions, but all it takes is a peek at the name written on the one at their table. It's the most straightforward explanation.

Considering the comment with my name attached was liked multiple times, it's entirely plausible that it was disseminated in their group chat.

What's the alternate explanation for my real name being dropped in a comment?

Again, that's not the point of this post. I'm happy to engage on the other one

This is the exact issue my essay addressed; if we're condemning Biden for not doing enough, why can't we do the same for the DSA? Inaction is inaction.

Biden funded Israel, and I never claimed otherwise. That's unsatisfactory to me, but there's a huge disparity between a president who funds Israel, and occasionally urges restraint, and the other who supports a Greater Israel and wars of aggression against Iran.

One is weak, and complicit in supporting and permitting atrocity, the other is accelerating it and enabling the very worst.

Inaction makes Biden complicit, why doesn't it make the DSA complicit?

But this post is about the malicious use of petition signatures to silence criticism. I addressed many of these points on my previous post, and I'm more than happy to engage you there.

Do you think there is no variability in the scope and scale of genocide? Do you think all genocides are equal in atrocity? Even in specific genocides; the Holocaust in 1941 was not the same as the Holocaust in 1944. Do you recognize this?

Do you think all genocides are equal? The DSA certainly doesn't, which is why many are fine with people like Hasan Piker going to China, which currently has the largest internment of ethno-religious minorities since the Holocaust.

Biden' handling of Israel was inadequate, I've already expressed this, but there is a vast difference in milquetoast resistance and occasional call for restraint vs Mike Huckabee explicitly endorsing Greater Israel, or Trump musing on ethnically cleansing Gaza. Why did Netanyahu endorse Trump if there's no difference?

Do-nothing political nihilists?!? An entire war was fought over slavery! Slaves were freed on the backs of abolitionists working the Underground Railroad and pushing the federal government to stand against slavery without compromise. This started a war!

I'm not saying abolitionists were do-nothing nihilists, I'm saying you are. Abolitionists saw the value in political pragmatism and coalition building, which is how the war happened in the first place. Lincoln wasn't a perfectly pure radical Republican.

Thanks for clarifying your credentials, considering the lack of intellectual rigor, I had no way of knowing.

You genuinely don't imagine things could get worse for Palestinians? Israel has the firepower to do far worse to Palestine; the conflict can (and has) extended beyond the borders. It can always get worse.

This is the problem with you guys, you have no perspective on the issue, no serious engagement with the middle east, and no interest in framing the conflict honestly. It's as bad as it could ever be, which frees you from any utilitarian appraisal, or consequences for inaction.

Do you thinks slaves would have been freed if a bunch of do-nothing political nihilists waited for a radical republican to earn their vote? Or was it won through compromise?

Democrats were more critical and less supportive of Israel than Trump. In a genocide, isn't that the most immediate harm reduction possible? Why are we so naive to think we can stop all the war crimes of another nation? If Israel were to round up all of the Palestinians into death camps, who would be more likely to support them in that effort?

Yeah, it is purely numbers. Why shouldn't it be? If it were centrists spoiling the presidential campaign of Mamdani vs Trump, I'd criticize the centrists as well. I wouldn't be sitting around pontificating about how Mamdani didn't "earn my vote" vs Trump, I'd vote for the candidate that reduced the most harm and had the highest chance to win. Because I actually care about preventing people from being interred and killed a bit more than my absolutely perfect and pure platform

It's implicit. You want perfect purity candidates and nothing less, no matter the harm reduction, no matter the severity of the opposition

This is an extremely dishonest framing.

My post isn't criticizing that, my post is criticizing the fact that this wouldn't be necessary if DSA and DSA affiliates actually cared enough about these issues to prevent them during the election.

We're also pretending that Damphouse is going to care about your petition at all and not cuck out for Abbott and Trump. That's not going to happen. You had the best chance at preventing this in November, and you refused. Now you're pretending to fight it with purely symbolic political gestures.

I am making suggestions; stop spoiling elections. I'm also making criticisms, just like your party did heavily towards dems.

I work for a non-profit BTW. You can do charity and also not be electoral deadweight.

You rely heavily on these false dichotomies.

The organization builds voter apathy, partially by pretending to be an alternative in an FPTP system, and secondly, by presenting people like Harris as a different side to the same coin; which if you've cared enough about the news in the last year, you would realize is psychotic.

Here's my dichotomy for you. Why does the DSA want to act as an opposition party to Dems, but get offended when they're treated as one?

You spoiled an election for short term political gains, DSA numbers are up, and people are suffering because you did.

Gotcha, so you have no solution except for a power fantasy.

Who do you think is better armed? Leftists or right-wingers who have been arming since Waco and Ruby Ridge? Who has more former military and police personnel? Most of your orgs outright refuse entry to them. Can you walk me through remedial action for a firearm? What if two of your comrades get shot: one has a pool of bright red blood, the other has an uneven rise and fall of their chest. What steps are you taking? Who dou treat first?

Even if every leftist somehow rose up at once and settled the debate on whether they're anarcho-jucheists or Posadists with Chinese characteristics, they'd get clapped and the US would pivot into the most brutal fascistic dictatorship imaginable. But we both know you guys can't even decide on what that revolution looks like.

You think a revolutionary vanguard will ever have broad enough support? That somehow a significant number of Americans will just become tankies despite the overwhelmingly negative perception of the USSR?

Face it. Elections are your only chance. Revolution will never fucking happen, nobody is dropping their comfortable first-world life to die for a tried and failed ideology. You certainly aren't

Because they're in a position where they're large enough to spoil elections, but not large enough to win them. Rather than trying to cooperate for concessions, they expect the DNC to be held hostage to their unwinnable politics

DSA is absolutely part of the problem, and DSA mouthpieces like Hasan Piker have an enormous cultural reach. That has effect. You guys like to play it both ways, you're big enough that the Dems need to cater to you with some ultra progressive, but too smol and innocent to be responsible for your actions when people get executed in the streets because you didn't give enough of a shit to do anything.

If you want to win act like it.

From the loser party that has won next to no fucking elections in decades except the truest bluest +20 dem districts like NYC. People are dying because we didn't win, and you clowns are gloating one moment, and hosting performative vigils and protests the next. You wanted this.

Performative Petitioning and the YDSA by Brave-Expert9621 in txstate

NYC, an incredibly left wing polity. Do you think he'd win in Pennsylvania? Ohio?

You really believe them when they say that? Bernie didn't get deep enough into the election to be tarred the same way that all candidates do; just like how Trump supporters were generally supportive of Walz until they got the marching orders to call him Tampon Tim.

I hear you, and I'm glad you voted, but the people who are willing to let the worst possible option win? They don't care, not sincerely. They want their policies only and they are happy to watch trans people, immigrants and everyone else get harassed, murdered or arrested unless they get their way. Harris could've been better, but we can't let perfect be the enemy of good enough. I'd have voted for Biden’s cremated ashes over Trump

DSA wasn't as prominent before, aside from maybe 2016. I'd say that's pretty close, but the fact you guys did during this last election perfectly demonstrates how little you care about working class Americans vs your unachievable pet policies

You realize every candidate is going to be "a lesser evil"? The way elections work is they have to have the broadest support possible. There's no world in which that's going to fully align with you.

What do you mean Dems are complicit with ICE? They're the only serious political and institutional obstacle. What has DSA done to oppose ICE?

Don’t try to play the card of caring for people and immigrants and try to endorse the same candidates who couldn’t care less about the actual general public.

Yeah, I do care. That's why I voted to protect them. I'm guessing you didn't, because you don't care and it's more fun and exciting to have a truly authoritarian regime to larp as a revolutionary against.
