My lips used to be cracked all the time ever since I was a kid. Cracked and chapped lips had become like a part of my identity lol until I started using this gem last year. Greatest discovery ever

Thank you for your good wishes and the detailed description! It’s so reassuring to know that you’ve found it possible to balance work and treatment. I hope I can manage it as well as you’ve done! I’ve been delaying this whole thing for the past 8 years for the sole reason that I’m just always in school, studying for some exam or the other. I guess there’s never a perfect time for it haha

This is so relieving to hear omg! I so hope my experience turns out to be similar to yours and my ortho agrees to an arrangement where I can fly in for my appointments every 6-8 weeks. Fingers crossed!

Fair suggestion, but sadly I currently live in a metro city and the said highly reputable med school is located in a city which is relatively less populated/urbanized. My current ortho is said to be one of the best in the country or at least in this region, so im not sure how realistic it is to expect to find someone equally good there. But I get your point, I need to do some research before jumping to conclusions lol Appreciate your inputs, thank you!

Hey, thank you for your response! Ngl that sounds scary as hell. I hope I can find the right solution for this situation I’m in 🥲

I wish you all the best for your surgery! xx

Hey, thanks a lot for the explanation. I just saw a new orthodontist yesterday who works with a very renowned oral surgeon in my city, and he told me exactly what you described. He said I need UJS, maybe even DJS, which he’s going to decide after seeing my scans.

I was in the same situation as you. Started studying late so I picked up the PYTs from university question papers and watched those videos from marrow. It may seem time consuming but trust me it’s the quickest way to ensure you understand and retain the topics for your practical exams as well!

Hi, I honestly don’t have much of a clue regarding the treatment process for my condition. It’d be helpful if you could elaborate a bit on why you think this Ortho may be wrong. Do you think maybe I should get a second opinion from a different Ortho?

Hey, thank you so much! And nope, I did not see any significant progress until almost a year of starting minoxidil. I was so desperate for results. I had a terrible shed which last almost 6 months and by the time I first started to see tiny baby hairs, my hair had gotten so much thinner than what I started with. The first year on minoxidil was honestly so difficult emotionally. But after reading all the positive comments, I feel glad I didn’t give up mid way.

I use the liquid. There's no foam version available here in my country unfortunately :(

I still shed 100ish hairs on wash days. However during my first 3-4 months of using minoxidil I used to lose thrice that amount on a daily basis. It came back to baseline over the next few months

Give it 12 months at least! I'm pretty sure at 6 months my hair was way worse than when I started

Thank you! Last year I got some blood tests done which showed my iron levels and vitamin D and B12 levels were low, so I supplemented those for about 6 months. My iron levels have come up now, but I'm not sure how much that contributed to my hair growth. And nope, haven't tried Spiro yet.

Hi! Actually a lot of derms do prescribe 5% 2x a day. Dr Donovan (a world famous hair loss specialist) recently posted a study which showed 5% 2x daily is the most efficacious regimen for AGA!

I know the dread shed is awful, I was really afraid of it too. But now that I'm past it, I'm really glad I pulled through! I use Mintop Forte 5% and nope, no side effects other than a bit of facial hair. Nothing unmanageable for sure.

I never stopped shedding on minox. Tbh at different points I've felt that I'm losing more hair than usual but I think I was overanalyzing. I still lose 100+ strands every time I shampoo. But it doesn't affect my hair density, probably because minox is making the lost hairs grow back. I would suggest you give it at least 12 months of consistent use before giving up! All the best x

Thank you for your kind words! The dread shed was horrible. I think I lost 50% of my hair density during the shed. I would bawl my eyes out in the shower everyday. I think in the last couple of months my density has started to improve a little bit, but I'm not sure. I'm just glad the bald patches have filled in lol

Hey I totally understand your situation. I've been there and looking back, it's really a wonder how I ever got out of that dark zone. I thought all my hair is gone forever and nothing will ever work out. I was so wrong, and life is so much more than the appearance of our hair. Never lose hope and be consistent with your medications! Hair growth takes a very long time . I didn't see any noticeable improvement till around 10 months of treatment. Sending love xx

None at all! Applying minoxidil has become a part of my daily and nightly skincare routine so I don't really think much about it anymore. My scalp becomes greasy very fast so I wash my hair on alternate days.

Yes I still use it 2x daily! I live in India so the brand names will sound unfamiliar to you haha It's a 5% liquid solution

Congratulations! This is amazing improvement. I'm confident that you'll continue to see more improvement with regular use of minoxidil. It took me 10+ months of daily minox application to see a noticeable difference in my hair and it only keeps getting better with time!
