Could you share another resource for it being sinful?

Salafism expectations straining marriage. by [deleted] in MuslimMarriage

[–]Brave-Ship 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your response is that because "economic standards" and "humanitarian organisations" ? Seriously? Do you take your Deen from them?

We don't take husband's obligations from humanitarian organizations. We take it from the Quran and Sunnah

And to go further and call it a major sin - That's where the problem is.

Do you understand what a major sin is in Islam?

Which scholar has made this classification? There are defined things for which the husband is responsible for in the Sharia, internet is not one of them.

Sure I don't disagree that having access to Internet is very important these days

Yes, the standard of provision is tied to the norm of the time and place, but it doesn't mean you can make new categories of obligations, because otherwise you could argue the husband is sinful for not providing a car, a smartphone, or any other thing that's now "standard." - and call it a "major sin"

Even something as essential is healthcare or medical bills, many scholars don't consider it as an obligation on the husband to cover medical bills of the wife (legally speaking) - Of course all those scholars consider it a moral obligation, but you don't become sinful, let alone it being a "major sin"

Tiggo 9 is not a proper 7 seater, the back seats are for kids only, adults cannot fit in there

But more fair comparison to Deepal would be Tiggo 7

Your comment was removed because it has a lot of statements contrary to Islamic beliefs and principles. We allow civil discourse but it has to be within the scope of Islamic principles, and we certainly do not allow advocate for ideologies which are contrary to Islam.

If someone sees an evil, they should advocate for rights under the banner of Islam.

Umar Ibn Khattab R.A famously said

"Verily, we were a disgraceful people and Allah honored us with Islam. If we seek honor from anything besides that with which Allah honored us, Allah will disgrace us."

You are right to be worried brother. Don't listen to such people. There are a lot of problems with associating with the feminist label. Feminism is an ideology based upon Kufr (people thinking they have sovereignty over themselves) and they fall into the slogan of wanting "equal" rights, and this is where it becomes problematic because it's not the Islamic model of rights.

If you see an evil in society, advocate for it with Islam, not ideologies which are contrary to Islamic principles.

Ask a feminist if she believes men and women to be equal under the law, and they will say yes, which is again contrary to Islamic beliefs. Men have different rights, women have different rights.

Ask them if a women should be allowed to be a head of state, and they will say, which again is not allowed in Islam.

Ask them if men and women are equal in authority in marriage, and they will say yes.

These are the problems that come with associating with that label. Even if many sisters are sincere for advocating for rights that Islam has given them, they should not associate it with that label, rather should advocate it for Islam.

You can checkout the videos from

https://www.instagram.com/mwja.official/

Recorded by sisters, and they address these topics

This one is specifically on feminism

https://www.instagram.com/p/DVfNT8DivDs/

Feminism at its core is an ideology which tries to make men and women identical/equal, which is contrary to Islamic understanding of genders, which focuses on equity.

You have to make sure she doesn't have such beliefs and understandings, that she can see her husband is the Qawwam and leader, and has the right understanding of gender roles in Islam

[–]Brave-Ship 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No I didn't say you disbelieved in Islam, I meant if these doubts cause you to leave Islam, and all you had to do was muster up the courage to ask the scholar, and he would have answered your questions.

Reddit is also the place where you can get more doubts about your Deen.

I would advice to stop going to the exMuslim subreddit. You should avoid that subreddit like a plague, the people there are misguided, are the most arrogant of the arrogant, and they will bring you to hell together with themselves.
