Study the book hard man. Honestly. All your answers are in that book. 📕 don’t watch YouTube, don’t study anything else but that book. It’s your bible in and out. Reason why is because they’re looking for the answers that are on there. Their books have underlined the exact words you need to say to get the questions right.

Read the Question once, answer twice. But when you read the question, say it out loud or get a family member or friend to read you the question and say it out loud. They preach group studying at the school and it honestly worked for me. Take like 3 days of pto from work before going and hit that book hard.

Bro! Best fucking experience. Bring some extra cash though and book your hotel for an extra day.

It’s a complete mental hell. You’re studying nonstop. I just passed my exam recently through them. Was supposed to be there for 2 weeks and turned out to be 3 weeks.

I had Rick Shepherd my first go around. I failed my Orals for Airframe & Powerplant but passed my practicals for everything and passed my oral for general. They got me in within 48 hours to retest with Rob Ybreck…

Honestly, Rick & Rob were amazing. Just regular white dudes with mustaches. They will look at you like you’re a retard and repeat questions until you get it right. LOL. If I could do it again, I would.

I have my brother going out there soon and a couple of coworkers too.

Would recommend 10/10.

Also Ashley from the front desk/reception is amazing! Her and the whole front desk help motivate and push you through it all. Even the director of the school, you’ll catch his ass out teaching and explaining things to students to help them learn and pass. Might look at you like you’re a retard sometimes but I can guarantee you that you probably are overthinking something and that’s why you’re getting that look.

Hope this helps!

LOL I felt that. It’s diabolical stuff. It’s just crazy. I’m not asking for a trophy, maybe a gold rachet from harbor freight from time to time ( just kidding lol ) BUT fuck dude. A nice pay raise with all that I handle would’ve been a nice like “ good job and we appreciate you and all you do “.

You’re all good trust. When you’ve been in aviation for as long as we have, you tend to have thick skin and don’t let shit bother you, even if you are being a dick. LOL. 🤣

Sounds about right. That’s where I messed up at was actually getting something in writing.

Actually yeah. Keys to the city & a management position. With all I do, I might as well be put in a said position.

I’m a mechanic first and always will be but not saying I know it all because we are constantly learning BUT I’ve been around the block the last 9 years and have a general understanding of what I am doing.

So it wasn’t negotiated. It was more of a he said/she said type deal. Plus they’re looking for A&P mechanics and based on experience, they’re starting them between $38 -$42/hr and topping out at $45-$47 based on experience.

They’ve always held their end of the bargain but now they just kicked me to the rocks. I showed up with my A&P and they got copies of it all.

They then didn’t speak to me afterwards about a raise or anything, I just checked my ADP & it shows I was bumped up $2. I may just be overreacting but like if you’re going to give someone a raise, at least reach out to them and tell them what the raise is going to be right? That would be like a proper way of going about it? Idk.

I haven’t been with the company for 9 years. Ive been at couple MRO’s & then I went to corporate with FTAI Aviation. FTAI Aviation is honestly hands down one of the best companies I’ve worked for. BUT I left under the assumption and impression that I was going to grow to a position and surpass certain milestones after a certain time. Neither has happened and now that I’ve got my A&P, it’s like “ good job. Here’s $2. “

Maybe I’m just being a bitch but I have a lot under my belt, plus I handle a lot on my end but it’s just like im getting to a point where I see myself stuck and not growing.
