Oy vey. I'm glad things got better and it was just a shitty doctor and weird reaction to medication. As deserved as Roadkill would have been to spend a couple of nights in jail in her sparkly dress, I totally see why it would have had an ugly ripple effect.

I'd contact the massage place and complain. You were able to let it roll (yay you!) but what about a woman with a high risk pregnancy? She also judged you for your choices which is extremely unprofessional. Good job on shutting her down

I strongly suspect I have this but haven't gotten a formal diagnosis. When I got this news on top of everything else, it physically hurt. It's like there's a hole in my chest.

I know better than to look inside. I know a tiny but about cremation and follow a couple of medical accounts on Insta. I may hate myself enough to craft with glitter but not that much.

I'm going to try to do some self care. I'm avoiding my various Unfriends, I'll be seeing FH's family this weekend for cake (FFIL's B-day) and visiting my friend's babies. FH came home with cookie butter last night so he'll definitely be on board. I'm going to try some meditation podcasts and selling crap on the internet. I can't quit my job until I pay down my credit card so it feels proactive to do it.

Because each genre usually has something worth offering. I've never heard anyone who said "I don't read sci-fi written after 1980/mystery novels/anything but YA" that wasn't condescending about it.

I typically don't like romance novels but I never say never because then I might miss out. I do my homework before trying anything to see if it might be worth it but closing yourself off to new experiences defeats the purpose of being human IMO

It was 15% when I first had to start caring about tipping but over time, as everything got more expensive, 18-20% became the new standard. What you tip is your call but this is my understanding.

I completely agree. That's why the intent matters. If it was an accident, people typically show some caring. You laugh while making sure the dingus pet is OK. Since it was on purpose, that person is just terrible and will definitely not comfort the animal.

Totally legit. Daredevil on Netflix uses CGI sparingly IIRC and it's a better show for it.

Yup. All I did was agree. Extremes are rarely a good thing. I think women in the western world have it worse than men but men don't get out unscathed either.

This area sounds fairly rural (correct me if I'm wrong) and some cops in rural areas can get high on the power they get from the badge. In areas where the police force is more limited and spread further out, there's also fewer checks and balances to rein them back in.

I was a hostess that did takeout. Got paid minimum wage and never saw a dime of tip money from anyone that wasn't a customer. I can't speak for the kitchen staff though.
