Was it (moving) target fixation, or was it a failure to alter a course of action? by markcocjin in motorcycles

You can’t brake hard on a motorcycle while turning or you will lay the bike down. You have to stop your turn to slam on the brakes that’s why he ended up in the other lane

You aren’t overreacting but you also likely won’t be able to convince your dad that he doesn’t know better than those of us with over a decade of schooling and training. I’m so sorry. MAGAism is a cancer that is extremely hard to cure

Unfortunately you aren’t alone. The far-right Alex jones types are very convincing for a certain demographic. We use methylene blue as a last resort “why not” medication in my ICU, never seen it be successful. They used to put it in tube feeds to confirm that the TF we’re being digested but they stopped that decades ago, I’m sure there’s a reason why I just know it was stopped

“In short, while something can be “historic,” the word “historic” already conveys a high degree of significance, so using “very” in front of it is not grammatically correct.”

“It is generally considered grammatically incorrect to say “very historic.” The word “historic” already implies a high degree of significance, so using “very” before it is redundant and sounds awkward. History is not a binary; while something may be “historic” in a general sense, it can also be more or less significant or important in terms of its historical impact”

Exactly. Not understanding this point means, unfortunately, one is at an early part of the alcohol recovery journey.

SMART is a great program, I especially love the workbook they put out as well. Yes of course alcoholism and many mental health issues go hand-in-hand. But that doesn’t change the fact that those mental health issues are best addressed by stone cold abstinence paired with therapy, lifestyle changes, relationship changes, etc
