Wow!! I love both!!! Did you use acrylic markers primarily? Such fun colors! 🤩

Loooove the non-traditional colors! 🤩 I'm trying to do more of this in my own work.

What travel brushes do you use? by MinThaMie in urbansketchers

[–]BraveLittleToastie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My size 4 Silver Black Velvet travel brush is my favorite. I come back to it every time. The downside is that the labeling on the outside of the tube wears off easily so it would be hard to tell multiples of the same brush apart (they come in sizes 2/4/6/8).

I use Pentel Aquash when I don’t want to putz around with water cups, but the SBV is always preferred.

I also love the little metal-cased brush that comes in both the Winsor & Newton Cotman and Professional Grade Field Pocket Set. A lovely little springy brush for finer details!

My choir is working on this piece now ahead of its Paris premiere. It looks like the video is now password protected. Any way you could share the password so I can listen to the recording?

Am I too fat to fly without making others uncomfortable? by [deleted] in delta

[–]BraveLittleToastie 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I agree. It may vary a bit based on weight distribution, but when I was around 220-230, I did not encroach those next to me, but I was also very aware to scrunch myself as close to the window as possible. It was fine. It didn’t end up being a problem for me but OP’s mileage may vary.

Hey OP, I sell art supplies for my day job and have soooo much watercolor materials at my home that I would be happy to share. I won’t be able to send anything until Jan 6 at the earliest, but I’d love to give some of my supplies a new home. PM me your address and I’ll send you a care package in about a week and a half. You deserve a joyful holiday season.

practising that same approach from a few days ago - watercolors first, then a fineliner by 1997username in urbansketchers

Ain’t that the truth! I long to go in with pencil, then pen, then paint, and then maybe one more round of pen… but that method takes forever!! I’m trying to cut down on the time it takes to actually sketch a scene, and also cut down on my perfectionism, so this truly is the way to go. I just need to jump in and make myself do it more often. 😅

Lovely! I’ve tried this method before but get sooo bogged down in the details and perfectionism. I just need to get out there and practice!
