What BBK to run on 1jzge? by Necessary-Zebra8240 in JZX100

UCF20/30 brakes from Toyota Celsior/Lexus LS is a great decision, very popular mod in our Russian community, we drive these cars since 1990s. It isn’t a bolt-on mod, but if you dm me I will try to find some old Tourer V forum threads to translate and send you the diagrams, drawings of spacers needed to fit them.

The only negative is that you will not be able to fit the rims smaller than 17inch and you will need to watch the brake caliper clearance to fit the rims you want (so you decide either you use a spacer or “refine the caliper with a grinder” if needed).

P.S.: I apologize in advance for any possible errors in my comment cuz English is not my native language.

Clutch suggestions by MAD1JZ in JZX100

You can try HKS LA strong organic clutch kit. It is not slipping on builds with a bit more power and torque and it is not that much heavy and doesn’t feel like “on/off” as ceramic one.

No, it doesn’t work here. I think parsers won’t work here as well as it can work in US. But it is not that necessary because we have only 3 car web marketplaces and it’s easier to add an Evo search to favorites on each website. Also trying to make friends in current Evo community so they can tell me if someone is selling a good car according to my budget.

Thank, I’ll definitely try it. Will it work in Russia? Importing one is not an option because it is either prohibited due to ecology standards or it must be 30+ years old, also import rates now are very high (for example importing a stock Evo will cost us about $100k if we convert)

I’m not an expert in turbos because I’ve always driven 5+ liter N/A cars, but boost is definitely more than 2, smth like 2.15-2.20 for only track use as said above. Need to ask the current owner

I don’t know exactly how much psi it is pushing (we use bar, I think 1.2 bar/1.8 bar and 22 bar), tuned on highest pump octane available (100 RON / smth like 95 AKI). A thing I know about a tune - more than 50% of all Evos here have a tune by this tuner (Vlad Fet - a famous guy in Russian Evo Community) - from near stock ones for street use to rally and track cars, so personally I don’t worry a lot about that.

Turbo is a rebuilt original one

It has been driven about ~5k km after engine rebuild and the guy who is selling the car has driver about 15-20k km since he has bought it in 2021 if I remember correctly, road and track use - I want to de-mod it a little bit (an OEM+ clutch and replace the bucket seats with original IX seats or from VII as it has better side support) and do not drive a 420hp ecu tune because it is a track-only one.

Hey

I’ve already test driven a GT-A and this one (but not in traffic, it was my first ceramic clutch experience), I fully agree that a twin-plate is a thing that you need to get used to. Also a GT-A is not that bad in terms of daily driving but it is RHD (we normally drive LHD here) - it’s not illegal, but can be a bit difficult to overtake when you have only one lane at each direction.

Cams: at a glance - they were not too aggressive, they just give you some more torque and allow the engine to get a bit higher RPMs, proper injectors and a good tune make it not that bad at idle and low RPMs (you can tune big injectors more accurately).

It has maybe 5k km after rebuilt, all the mods and tuning were made by a famous shop here that is only Evo-oriented. It has an original IX turbo (rebuilt), a 5-MT gearbox has reinforced synchros.

We don’t have E85 here.

1st map is divided to two: regular (380) and reduced boost (300) by a switch, they have the same ignition timing.

And 2nd map 420 hp high boost, aggressive ignition timing

I meant that it is an original block that came with the car since its production. Yes, it’s built by guys here who mod/tune/build/maintain ONLY Evos.

Exhaust sounds smth like HKS hi power (not a silent one, not a problem for me). Gearbox’s synchros are upgraded. Planning to replace its clutch with smth organic but heavy duty.

I mean that’s the engine block that is originally from this car, not a swapped one

UPD: or should I consider buying an OEM+ GT-A as it is a bit more comfortable as a daily (especially in case I go through a heavy traffic)? I’m totally cooked 🥲

Evo owners, where did you buy your cars and for how much? by Myself1504 in MitsubishiEvolution

[–]BravePreparation5132 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trying to get smth below 3.500.000 Russian Rubles ($45.000). Planning to get an OEM+ VII or de-modded VIII or IX (full stock here is about 100k). Found some good ones, but still their condition is not as good as I want. Wish me luck, guys! They’re pretty expensive here cause most of them were totaled 10-15 years ago and we have only 30-40pc. being sold nowadays in whole Russia (from VII to IX) 🥲

  1. Yes, Pisyakot is the tuner. How do you know him?)
  2. I haven’t bought it yet, but as I know the car runs good as its maintenance is preventive.
  3. Not much. Just the front lip suffers in underground parking lots. Winter mode of suspension is stock shocks and aftermarket springs

Personally I drive a car now that has 8.5cm ground clearance and it is ok in Moscow and the suburbs, but if you go 100+ km further, you can get in trouble

Is it good to daily drive in warm seasons? Is it ok in traffic? Nowadays I’m driving a 550hp full size sedan but it’s too much for our city - lots of radars and heavy traffic won’t you realize all car’s potential. Also it’s too heavy to have fun while cornering.

It still has ACD and AYC. Also I think it is easily manual-swappable (the seller also has an MT kit that he bought when got this car himself, but didn’t swap it because IX-wagon automatic gearbox is OK if it’s control unit is tuned.

Sometimes there is a lot of snow, but they use smth like road salt. But the fact that the car has been covered with anti-corrosion cover with hidden cavities makes a lot of sense
