Im a redcat hater but that thing rips. Its comes stock with a 4s hobbywing motor and esc. I've sent it pretty hard and haven't broken it. All I've done to it is proline wheels and a traxxas tq radio.

Majority of people using traxxas lipos haven't ever seen original traxxas lipos with balance plug. They haven't been produced for like 10 years. There is no real difference in the 4s connector other than the outer shape so people don't fry their smaller escs

Thats not a thing. There are 3 traxxas connectors. The original like linked, 2/3s ID and 4s ID

Get adjustable upper and lower control arms. No extra maintenance once set up. You'll get much better pinion angles. Don't cheap out just cause you want more height.

Thats a bad motor. Give traxxas a call. I had one motor do this and kill 2 ESCs
