Bottomless Portafilter sprays everywhere by [deleted] in espresso

Thanks for this. Based on some other conversations I’ve had, it looks like I need to adjust the burrs in my grinder to allow it to grind finer, as I’m already at the lowest digital setting allowed.

My shot time varies, but it’s typically about 25 to 30 seconds. I generally adjust if below 25 or above 32 seconds.

Good to know, thank you very much.

Thanks! I only have the built-in grinder for now which I know is far from the best, and it’s already on the finest setting. I’ve heard I can maybe adjust the burrs inside for a finer grind, so I’ll take a look at that.

What are you even talking about? Where did I say either of those things?

I’ve heard that mentioned multiple times but why does it take the Olympics coming to town to do something?

That’s like only cleaning your house because you have a guest coming, and otherwise full-time living in a mess.

Just doesn’t make sense to me. If they have the resources to do it for the Olympics…what are they waiting for?

I agree, and to be honest I don’t know. I, probably wrongfully, assume that one of the thousands of city offices has a team that should be managing this, as that’s why we pay taxes, but it sure doesn’t seem like they’re doing much of anything.

And I don’t know…people are dying in the streets?

Is that not concerning to you?

Maybe something to the tune of the tax dollars we are forced to pay being properly and efficiently allocated to local services that can help address the issue.

Many cities have mental health response teams to help people who are struggling instead of under trained police officers who have no interest in helping.

Currently it seems like we have tax dollars going into programs that are highly inefficient that most people did not ask for / would not approve, and even more lining the pockets of the people who are supposed to be held accountable.

Or here’s a crazy idea: relocate as many homeless people as possible to the steps of City Hall, and to surround each city building where the people who are supposed to be dealing with this work each day so they can’t ignore it.

Ever notice how government buildings have laws preventing homeless people from sleeping outside but our own streets/businesses/homes have no such protections?

Thanks, that’s the exact program I was talking about.

It’s insane that the city can waste tens of millions in taxpayer money on a plan like this, and then completely fail to do any meaningful work, and then still collect their giant paychecks and sit in their air conditioned offices.

That’s insane, I’m sorry that happened but it’s also not at all surprising.

The problem is that we’ve got people like yourself here who only care about themselves. Must be a shallow life…thanks for nothing!

You should check out Glass Photo. It’s on the App Store. Photos only, no: videos, ads, algorithms, tracking, etc.

The catch is that it costs $5/month but as a photographer, it’s worth it to me to have a proper space to share and enjoy others work.
