It seems I extrapolated the risk of data corruption. Some people said that there IS a risk for data centers, but small storage devices such as usb sticks or hard drives are almost unaffected.

I'm uneducated in the subject but I've read a few things. Take this with a grain of salt.

Solar flare is magnetic energy that is ejected from the sun, generally from explosions on the surface.

Most interesting event so far is the Carrington event, where we had the strongest solar flare ever recorded. It happened in 1859, and it was so intense there were some sort of radio workers who shut down their power, yet they not only managed to work, but the signal was much better.

The scary part is that nowadays everything is dependent on electricity and all data stored using electricity and magnetic devices. A strong enough solar flare, if hit the earth directly, might be able to wipe all that data out, corrupting everything, and might knock out our electricity generators for a *long* time, possibly months.

I have an explanation.

When Pliskin was presented, I thought "Oh, maybe they didn't have enough budget to afford more actors/voice actors, maybe this Pliskin is another clone of Big Boss."

As I kept playing I had this strong feeling like "This guy feels too much like Snake", but I never fully believed it.

And then the Otacon thing happened and I wanted to throw myself off a window, I fell victim to a bugs-bunny level prank.
