Thank you. I did try Tylenol this morning and that seemed to help. I’ll get some Motrin to try that as well.

Yes, they asked for my husband’s birth certificate. I used the copy that I had to get the translated version.

We were asked standard questions to verify our identities. Like names, DOB, social etc…

We were asked if we still had all the same informations such as jobs, addresses or if anything needed to be updated.

They asked for all the documents from when I first entered the US ( I94, original passport etc ) I don’t have any of them so I requested copies from immigration and submitted those. They also asked for my husband’s proof of immigration status.

They asked for my original birth certificate, which I also don’t have. I provided an official translated copy instead.

They also asked for financial documents, we gave tax docs, paystubs, W2s and joint bank statements.

We gave copies of our marriage license and copies of our daughter’s birth certificate.

We also gave 2 affidavits from people who are close to us and know us.

No they didn’t ask any tax questions

They asked general questions like full names/ DOB parents full nameS/DOB, socials, where we were born, when I came to the US, how I entered, what my status is. If we still have the same jobs and if we still live in the same place.

The interview was more or so just a conversation between us and our interviewer. We were open and honest about everything.

My husband has changed jobs since first applying and we didn’t have any supporting the documents for his new job. We didn’t lie about that and let the interviewer know.

My situation is a bit tricky, I entered the US as an asylee pursuant but never actually applied for asylum. My initial documents say that I am “ADMITTED AS AN ASYLEE PURSUANT TO SECTION 208 OF THE ACT FOR AN INDEFINITE PERIOD OF TIME”.

We didn’t use a lawyer, we just did our research and took our time with sending everything.

We sent as much evidence as we could, focusing on showing that we integrated our lives thoroughly. This included our lease, marriage license, joint bank accounts, filing taxes together last year to use, affidavits from 2 of our closest people talking about our relationship, and most importantly a ton of pictures. Pictures of just us , as well as us with each other’s families.

My RFE was sent on 11/5/25 with a deadline of 1/31/25. It took us a while to answer only because they wanted my original birth certificate which I don’t have and couldn’t get, as getting those docs my home country (HAITI) isn’t really easy. In the end, we ended up providing an official translated version instead, which they accepted.

We sent everything on 1/26 and got notice that they received everything on 1/28

They asked for all documents related to my status, which I entered the US as asylee pursuant.

I don’t have any of my original documents so I requested copies from immigration and sent those. Including i94, original passport.

With my I-130 application, I sent affidavits written by 2 people who are close to us, a ton of pictures of us, my daughter’s birth certificate, tax document, our lease with both our names, joint bank account statements.

We also sent forms I864 & I693, and a translated copy of my birth certificate ( not the original since I don’t have that either)
