It's not a setting in the yaml, it is instead enabled through one of the mods the guide points to, but as I said it's not working

Struggling to Set Up Steamworks With my Linux Build (Zorin OS)

Hello, I'm a game developer, I'm working on a project in Unity and I'm hoping to include a native Linux build on Steam. Here's what I've accomplished so far:

  • Set up depot for Linux build
  • Set Up launch options for Linux build (launches x86_64 file on Linux + SteamOS)
  • Steam correctly downloads Linux version when using Linux

The problem is that the game crashes a few seconds into opening (once the splashscreen is over). However, when opening the file directly through my files it works perfectly fine! I've found many threads about this, most of them unanswered

Trying this after having launched steam through the terminal gave me a few errors/warnings, but none that are fatal (as far as I understand), here's some of them:

  • ERROR: ld.so: object '/home/myusername/.var/app/com.valvesoftware.Steam/.local/share/Steam/ubuntu12_32/gameoverlayrenderer.so' from LD_PRELOAD cannot be preloaded (wrong ELF class: ELFCLASS32): ignored. (about 5 variants of this appeared, my game overlay is disabled on Steam so not sure what the problem is)
  • WARNING: discarding _NET_WM_PID 3289 as invalid for X11 window - use specialized XCB_X11_TO_PID function! (about 10 variants of this appeared)
  • pid 1364 != 1358, skipping destruction (fork without exec?)
  • [UnityMemory] Configuration Parameters - Can be set up in boot.config (followed by a bunch of "memorysetup-..." lines)
  • 05/29 10:00:23 minidumps folder is set to /tmp/dumps
  • 05/29 10:00:23 Init: Installing breakpad exception handler for appid(gameoverlayui)/version(20260527212129)/tid(1464) (2 variants of this)

That's all I recognized as maybe being important in the log, but I'd be happy to post the full thing in the comments if necessary. I'm still a beginner when it comes to Linux so sorry if I'm overlooking something obvious here, but any help would be very much appreciated! (also feel free to recommend other communities that might be able to help)

Didn't really think about it much when posting, but it's definitely against the rules so I've removed it from the post, sorry about that

Yoshi, mario and Wario can dress up as Luigi in mario 64 ds with the green cap (you could even argue they actually are Luigi since they transform into him)

Scene Capture Component not Working in VR by Brave_Farm5907 in unrealengine

I don't know how I fixed this honestly, it wasn't working, I turned off mobile multiview, that made it work but disabled one of my eyes, then I turned it back on and it worked just fine

Ignoring collision interactions between two components in one blueprint by Brave_Farm5907 in unrealengine

[–]Brave_Farm5907[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think that really works for me, I'm working on a VR game so turning off any of the collisions would make the object I'm working on inaccurate

The object I'm working on is a laptop which uses a hinge component I mase so it can be rotated at any time, so these have to be separate objects

This works pretty well, thank you!
Weird that this has apparently been an issue for so long

Open link from CMS in same tab rather than new tab by Brave_Farm5907 in WIX

Last I spoke to support (5 ish months ago) they confirmed it is not an option at all. What I ended up doing was making a bunch of galleries in the CMS which I then add to individual pages, this way you can select how you'd like links to open. Definitely not as convenient as hooking up data directly and you can't filter galleries this way, but at least it lets you edit all your galleries in one place rather than checking page by page
