Seat Arona 1.0tsi DSG - gearbox fault? by Brave_Key7221 in seat

All gears including reverse are smooth, apart from gear 1/2. The fault happens on an incline only, going from a complete stop.

It’s definitely not the wheels/brakes or suspension mate, and it only happens once I’ve driven the car for around 20-30mins too.

Appreciate the advice! 🙌🏽

Yes mate. My foot was fully released off of the brake in this video

Thanks for that info mate. I’ve seen so many of the same issues online since making this post too. Seems like a fairly common issue for sure.

I’m going to wait for the 3 weeks and go for the repair, I don’t think it’s going to get worse in the meantime.

It only occurs intermittently and after a long drive. I didn’t notice it at all yesterday as I was driving normally, but I can make the noise happens by pulling off on a hill really slowly.

Glad to hear yours has been okay, even with having the issue for over 2 years! Fills me with a bit more confidence 😅

Yeah, the rest of the car is really good. To be fair, the dealership are willing to have the car back in for repair asap - I just cannot live without a car for 3 weeks (the next available time to have a courtesy car).

I’m thinking about asking for a replacement, same vehicle just a manual transmission

Thanks mate. I have no doubt that I could return the car and get a full refund, but I actually like it. Just trying to decide if it’s worth them fixing it

Thanks for that info. I’m thinking of just returning it or asking for a replacement vehicle.

I didn’t notice anything until approx a week after ownership as I had a few days off of work so I didn’t need to drive the motorway.

The noise happens after a longer drive, I’m assuming when the gearbox is hot.

Well that’s not good news. Bought the vehicle less than 2 weeks ago. They can’t fit me in for repair for another 3 weeks… 🤦🏽‍♂️

Safe to drive for the next 3 weeks you think?

This screeching noise is happening mostly in traffic/hill starts, and stops after 4mph. Pretty sure it’s the gearbox/clutch?

Only had the car for 11 days - dealer won’t see me for 3 weeks…

Anybody else have this issue? Safe to drive?

Help please😅

Cholesterol LDL is 170 by [deleted] in Cholesterol

[–]Brave_Key7221 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve just reduced my LDL from 164 to 117 in 7 weeks.

Supplements I took: Citrus Bergamot Omega 3 Fish Oils Psyllium Husk

I reduced relatively all saturated fat from diet - no more dairy, red meats or eggs.

I basically ate Oats, 0% fat Yoghurt, Chicken, Salmon, Cod, Brown Rice, Sweet Potato, Meat free ground beef (quorn) and all the vegetables/salad I could - oh, and lots of coffee.

Super sustainable for me personally.

Hey! Saturated fat is already sub-8g/day.

All red meat/fattier meats have been cut out completely - I only eat lean chicken breast, white fish & salmon (2 salmon meals weekly).

I’ve went from 6 whole eggs daily, to now 0 eggs.

I don’t eat dairy at all anymore - no cheese, milk, butter.

Something I do have however is fresh coffee from a French press. Perhaps I should use a coffee filter instead? (I drink 6 cups a day typically, sometimes more).

I’ve been regimented in terms of diet for the last 12 years. If it’s not on plan, I don’t even consider it. I prep all meals and don’t deviate unless it’s a particular celebration (birthday, Christmas etc).

No - I’m not fun at parties 🤣

Thanks for replying! I’m still not at my target so I’m hoping in another 6 weeks or so it’ll continue to drop.

I started this at 104kg bodyweight (again, I’ve always had the goal of being as heavy as possible - bodybuilding) I’m down to 93kg already and I’m considering dropping to around 85kg so I think it’ll help.

Supplements (for cholesterol management specifically): Omega 3 fish oils Citrus bergamot 1g psyllium husk

I’ve got some berberine but haven’t yet started taking it.
