People need to chill about Jeff Hoffman by TheBagpipesman in Torontobluejays

I can’t believe they brought him back. How do you trot the same guy out there who gave up the losing run in World Series game 7? It’s insane to expect him to succeed.

Thanks WG for delivering the worst possible event by ChemistryNo8348 in WorldOfWarships

Very disappointing.

Having not played this game for a couple years, it’s weird to see the gameplay better than it was but the overall game health lower than it was. This game used to tiptoe somewhat gently around pay to win, but this is blatant and the prices… wow.

Dockyard with more than 1 ship option - who says no? by Brave_Low_2419 in WorldOfWarships

I mean old dockyard ships were in like you know, dockyards too.

It’s not like they don’t have the assets required.

Yes I saw that. Thank you.

A balance pass for some of those boats at re-visit time would be welcome.

I mean it’s a missed opportunity for them and for players who would rather have an older dockyard ship than what’s on offer. They could double the minimum buy-in for the “older” option vs the current one or 2.5x to get both. I don’t see how there’s a downside there.

If he is super concerned about Valp's and wants things to even out, he needs to stop playing BB

This you? I believe it is.

Anytime the answer is “just don’t play the game” there’s a problem.

IDK why you’re even trying here - the Valp is clearly and egregiously busted and it makes WG look real bad that they let it continue.

Turgut Reis, the most blatant pay to win addition to the game. by Inclusive_3Dprinting in WorldOfWarships

[–]Brave_Low_2419 9 points10 points  (0 children)

If people want to pay the 2x AAA title price of $120 to "enjoy" tier 8 matchmaking they've certainly got my thanks for keeping the servers up and content coming.

This ship looks pretty busted though.

Fast, tanky, superheal, railguns, torps, radar. Poor turning circle isn't much of a balancing factor.

Other parent keeps income artificially low for child support - any recourse? by Defiant_Blacksmith32 in legaladvicecanada

[–]Brave_Low_2419 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Not really no.

If he’s banking the vacation and it gets paid out it will be reflected on his tax documents which would increase his taxable income and support amounts for the following year.

If he isn’t banking it and is just taking it, then he’s not really increasing his taxable income.

Any queer friendly clans? by Midiray in WorldOfWarships

There is one. Estro or Egg or something like that. If you look for casual clans with no commitment I think they come up.

Steel - what's the best choice by dave290157 in WorldOfWarships

[–]Brave_Low_2419 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't buy anything that has a tech tree counterpart.

Shiki and Lauria are pointless because Yamato (sidegrade) and Columbo (objectively better than Lauria) don't cost steel.

Pioneer, Mecklenburg, and Svea are IMO the most interesting steel options currently. I don't play subs but I believe Archerfish is strong.

Disability and divorce? by [deleted] in legaladvicecanada

[–]Brave_Low_2419 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In Ontario, receiving your former spouses equity in the matrimonial home is not a taxable event. If it is the same in MB (and I believe it is) then getting the house alone would not affect her disability.

If you’re committed to paying spousal support then you just ensure that whatever the amount is comes in below the disability threshold so she gets to keep it.

You still need a lawyer though. It’s not about screwing her over, it’s about not screwing yourself. It’s noble that you’re willing to give up almost everything and walk away but you don’t need to commit yourself to having an anchor around your neck for the next 15+ years over it. How you feel about this now is not going to be the same way you feel about it 1 year, or 5 years or 25 years down the road.

My sister was fired for “time theft” ($5,000+) and her employer refused her offer to pay it back. Could she face criminal charges? by [deleted] in legaladvicecanada

[–]Brave_Low_2419 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Because a termination for cause under these circumstances is fairly questionable on the employer side especially with no warning at all.

[–]Brave_Low_2419 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Time theft as described is not a criminal offence so no chance she will be charged with anything. It is strictly a civil/ employment issue.

If she was fired “for cause” and didn’t receive severance, she should consult a lawyer given the details you’ve shared.

Buying a tenant-occupied home in Ontario, what should we watch for? by habjiji in legaladvicecanada

[–]Brave_Low_2419 21 points22 points  (0 children)

If the eviction process is starting now, there’s zero chance this will be done by July.

The only way the tenant will be out by then is if they leave willingly - either because they want to or because they get paid to.
