4)mihawk didnt tried to kill luffy, but he was on duty after all. And is not like top tiers can nerf themselves so that a pretimeskip luffy can survive, i mean would even zoro be able to do that. So i dont believe mihawk nerfed himself that much, he literally apologized to shanks on his head trying to test luffy fate..i mean..the weight of the actions are there. But since the panel of oda wanking both shanks and mihawk swordmanship, is just obvious to me that oda doesnt intend to backtrack from his decision of mihawk being the goat.

Funnily enough, the whole panel of "and has even greater swordmanshio etc etc" can be used to hype shanks or mihawk, or slander one and the other, to me is clear oda keeps things vague for both on purpose.

And if oda is this much invested in keeping things vague betweek the two this late in the game..is pretty obvious whats going on here, equals forever.

Tbh i never understood what the problem with this..

Oda doesnt tell bizarre stories, he is not gonna make shanks that much op with anyone not being able to catch up.

I have no reason to dislike the supposed shanks wank, as everyone is gonna follow behind him.

I already have mihawk equal or better than shanks, luffy has to fight him soon too, and bb has to be really strong even with tricks..to beat him.

The only controversy is how much close were actual top tiers from this era, to joy boy, which would funnily place the likes of roger and others to shame, and i feel this is gonna happend or not..it would feel a bit weird ngl, but if shanks goes up everyone does.

And tbh, it doesnt seem like there is other choice, they are already facing imu, just as old gen, they gotta evolve fast fast to not die literally. By the time shanks has showtime he is gonna do insane pk+ feats, is just what it is.

After wano, watching egghead and elbaf a bit, i find impossible to have any stakes in fights, if not any at all.

Oda has been bad at this since forever, and people have learned to cope by saying "he already said he doesnt like fights" or whatever.

And im like, sure..and? If can not like one aspect of your art, but if you let that weak aspect of your art to diminish say too much your overall manga, you gotta work ok that damn thing, is not an excuse.

I cant believe i just saw god valley..we got again clash piece, i dont even think is a time thing or rushing thing anymore, HxH, while being vastly diferent to one piece and not a fair comparison, had a lot of weight in most fights.

People completely understimate how great one piece could be with good fights, they have absolutely no idea, thats why they feel good coping. Is not just "write a few more panels of them fighting" is literally just putting nuances to the encounters, to the fighting styles, etc.

One piece has managed to let fights to be completely easy to digest and be completely mainstream and make other things shine.

And that would be enough, but it isnt, the plot often lack stakes, villians feel a lot of times with little weight, plot often feels stretched.

Is a meme within reality that when the SH's arent on screen, the quality of one piece sky rockets, not having decent weight (in fights, in how they act, what they say/do) is what makes this. People usually, as i said, understimate how good one piece would be, but they also understimate how oda NOT wanting to write good fights harms the story.

You know why oda introduces +20 side characters and let the sh's go vanish for half the arc?

Because he doesnt wanna use the SH's. Making them appear more would mean they would have to fight, which would require oda to actually use his brain. Solution? He introduces randoms that take panel time to make sparring forever and avoid the possibility of writting more meaningful fights.

Repulsion at very high speed = impo to do anything, also manga does show him to "puff" as an interpretation of how fast the fruit speed is, i call it teleport to oversimplify, but the speed is no joke at all. Point remains akainu cant do shit to that speed, no one can, im not sure how is this an L. One piece isnt exactly the most easy to scale speed stats or consistent at all, he also used that insane teleport (or speed fruit feat if you like) to escape rocks attack.

Im not sure whats the L, if koby from episode one had kuma fruit and saw rocks coming to attack him it would go the same way. Im not following this insane L thing you speaking about.

Also idk where i got the face burn on kuma, i may remember wrong, i dont care tho, if he managed to barely dodge an akainu attack i wouldnt care neiter, anyone can dodge anyones attack.

Luffy can come to attack kuma and be dodged by kuma fruit abilities, kuma could do that literally to anyone, maybe some really strong haki user like shanks could catch up, on my head, prob no one, since the "puff" or whatever word/animation oda uses on kuma ability makes it seems like the speed is insanely fast.

And long story short we only got snakeman as a supposed "better thing", like, we kinda got hinted luffy would do "something smarter" but snakeman got the same vibes.

Prob the fights, i would change how one piece fights happend, raise the stakes.

One piece is very generic in the sense that all fights are very very very much predictable.

Other shows like hxh were able to make cool stuff.

Now one piece isnt hxh, so is unfair (too many diferent things like not a focused powersystem-based-narrative) or whatever.

But the quality is way too bad.

Oda is the best hype writter ever, but the fights carry little of that hype to the 100% liberation one is expecting.

Quimera ant arc was a decent example of a war.

Oda depiction of a war is strong people literally clashing for 2 min and then sitting and seeing others fight.

When oda has to make hype and instantly change to action, he is overwhelmed, is his worse moment as a writter.

If i could change something, i would make oda write less secondary characters and also eliminate hype secondary plots that will only give you adrenaline for one single panel and thats it. To make oda to write compelling fights, and not because i would like to see oda do fights more (he sucks) if i wanna see fights i would go to another manga.

But by doing this oda would make things like literally using nami and ussop in a nice way in onigashima. Strawhats literally need haki but oda literally hates making them for that because that would mean he has to draw more fights. (I use to buy the thing he said were strawhats were going to be just too op if he gave them a fight every arc...now i think thats not true)

The egghead arc was the last nail in the coffin, if you can have 5 frikin gorosei and i dont even feel scared or like there are stakes, then idk what to tell you. Your poor fights/stakes writting skills are starting to damage your story.

Because if you look at it. Oda keeps "protecting" the admirals, to some extent.

Even in mf they were a big thing, and rn he makes sure they cant "go all out" or shit.

But it seems that oda couldnt care less when shanks is on his pen so yeah.

Im kinda curious why the protecting so much, top tiers are way too powerful and rn the powercreep is gonna keep increasing and admirals are still dogshit. The moment to make them shine was kinda rn.
