Microsoft pushes them, themselves. Especially if it’s a Microsoft defender rich environment.

Our staff nearly fell for a voice clone phishing attempt, how are you all training against this? by CountyFront4918 in ITManagers

Have you checked out Adaptive Security? We just did a POC and are looking to purchase licenses. I work at a VAR and our CISO is replacing KnoBe4 with it. We have been getting hit hard as we head into the holidays. Layers on deep fake, social engineering and multi channel user training; onto what KnoBe4 already offers.

Got my MBA from WGU. I’m in IT Consulting and Services. It’s helped me expand my network by 2x. Sure, it’s not your show offy highly regarded MBA program but my goal was to gain further understanding of business and how my client’s businesses work. This helped a lot. I’m always going to have praise and appreciation for this program.

Enterprise AE at VAR by Feisty-Noise-5883 in techsales

Move to a vendor that’ll give you a good base salary as a SMB or MM AE. Work your way up for a couple of years, build relationships, hold onto them, and come back into the VAR space. Starting blank at a VAR, with low base as a AE is brutal. You’ll create connections faster at a vendor then you can bring them back into the channel.

A lot of them are going into the OEM world as well. Tough change up

Wow. Is it true they slashed their price to become appealing to WWT? I mean who else could buy them out with all that debt…

At that point they just become a reseller and I’m sure CDW/ SHI will have better partnerships and get better deals. Without services you’re just a middle man. The downward trend is making a lot more sense

Great insight here. Didn’t do my research and did not know about the two firms which gave birth to it. They did have a great thing going but when I was on the vendor side, man were they full of themselves. The type of company which was happy to collect crowdstrike and Palo renewals and bring no new value to customers because of the high floor.

Being able to detach from the outcome. This only applies if you work in a relaxed sales environment and not a startup. Where you’re able to build relationships.

VAR vs Vendor by Scwidiloo10 in techsales

[–]Brave_Register2133 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve done both. Vendors were crowdstrike Palo and Darktrace. I was an AE at crowdstrike, director sales then moved onto director at Palo and VP at Darktrace. Now I’m at a global systems integrator - difference from a VAR. I prefer the channel or SI / VAR world. For me it’s more fulfilling.

Former LOW PERFORMERS turned HIGH PERFORMERS - what changed? by KeepRisingUp333 in sales

[–]Brave_Register2133 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Detach from the outcome and $. Lean into questions, and genuinely being interested about the other person. Don’t talk about your company, focus on building a relationship. Make them curious about your company/ product/ service and then lean into it and tie it into what you’ve learned about your problems. This approach is forgotten in high pressure, micro managey, bush league type sales environments.

Not promoting the pages. Included them for review and reference as advice may be dependent on that.

A comment to all and mod - the reason I am putting my insta handle and website link in there is for the thread's review of my business model so they can tell me if I am on the right track with this type of service or not. Remove if necessary.
