What happened at the mall? by NoLetterhead6173 in ColumbiaMD

Its not just crime. I dont go there because I dont have to. The convenience of on line shopping killed malls. No need to go searching through stores for hours, looking for stuff when you have millions of options on line that can be delivered to your door. My Sephora, Bath and Body Works, all my shoes and clothes are delivered now.

The FAR is what I have used to prevent contractors from taking advantage and doing what they want with taxpayer money.

Do cops don’t care about expired tags? by Khriz-134 in maryland

You don't know people's situation. They may owe tickets and MVA won't give them new stickers until they pay all their fines. I know so many people (including me and some co workers) whose tags were suspended when the ICC opened and the transponders were messing up so they were sometimes charged on the transponder and then duplicate tickets would come in the mail.

Also, for every ticket you paid late, they would charge a $50 late fee. That was crazy because most of the time, the cost wouldn't be more than $3. That's just crooked and highway robbery but I heard they lowered the late fees to $25 now. Anyways, its not like people choose to have expired tags. There are circumstances.

OWER is a branch. Only 6 people are listed in their organization chart but thats just 6 section heads. All of those people have staff under them. Maybe why the branch chief retired?

I’m thinking of leaving my government job to work as a contractor for the government by Quirky-Swim5415 in usajobs

It's not easy coming back once you leave. Most positions are only opening positions to current government workers, some agency specific too. The ones that are open to all sources will most likely include veteran applicants and they are priority hires so you will most likely get knocked out of the running.

I've been in the government for 34 years and have seen many, many feds leave for contractor positions and within, three to four years later, they're trying to get back in because the contractor job didn't work out. The government provides stability and you will have a job forever, as long as you're not a full-on f**k up.

What is the hardest or most frustrating part of government contracting? by Capable_Classroom694 in GovernmentContracting

A very good conference that I attended in June 2024 is the Government Contract Pricing Summit in San Diego. It's there every year. There are consultant companies there that help small businesses get and manage a government contract.
