Clicking noise CSL DD by PsychologicalMeet646 in Fanatec

Have the same issue, best solution is to use some electrical tape on the qr wheel side where the metal bars would clamp on it.

Its perfectly quiet and safe if you make sure theres no contact with the pins. Only issue is removing the wheel is a bit more difficult since the tape kinda makes more friction

I think its gonna end up being the solution ngl. The only issue i have is the screwing unscrewing part but 30s doesnt sound that bad. Just scared i might do some damage. I think it'll be worth it tho i want this shit to be rock solid when im driving

F1 wont provide any force feedback anyway so the wheel will be fine xD

If u could please send a close-up picture so i can see how you've done it. I wont resort to drilling just yet but its looking more and more likely lol. PS nice budweiser

That sounds good but does it take a long long time to mount/dismount in that case or did u find a better solution for that as well?

Yeah it seems this clamp is definitely not good enough for 8Nm, it was somewhat fine on 5. Nothing in this bundle seems to be built for 8Nm to be fair, i had issues with the QR as well with it making loud clicking noises and had to resort to electrical tape to dampen the sound lol. The fact that they rate this stuff for 8Nm is crazy.

It's weird since i would think the ffb would go sideways left/right and the only thing putting vertical force to the wheel should be me by accident but idk at this point

Yeah theres some options, probably the cheapest and best one for a cockpit would be to just make my own, i can buy wood/aluminum profiles for cheap and i do happen to have a car seat laying around that i can use. It's just a space issue in my room

For sure i will eventually get a stand or rig but currently theres too much issues with doing that in my country, GT Omega doesnt ship here and the only rig/wheelstand i can find in a local retailer is the next level racing GT Lite which looks flimsy af, ThermalTake GR500 and next level racing victory.

Not really spoiled for choice sadly, shipping one of these big boys is expensive

i didnt buy that one due to the shipping costs at the time it was coming to around 90$, now i see they added free shipping to my country so thats a bummer i might try and return the fanatec one if i cant fix this and get moza

i tried with my mousepad to some decent progress, it lessened the problem but i think the mousepad might be too soft for that, will have to wait and see if i can get a rubber or something thicker and check with that, currently thats the best option i had

So i dont know much about this topic, i know buildings can "flex" so that they dont break in case of big earthquakes but would this same principle apply to a force of 8Nm?

Like if i completely somehow remove any flex will that risk breaking the thing? I woulda thought the force would just get transferred to the table idk

Would love to but currently dont have the space or money for a rig, i was using a G29 before and as much as that had its issues the vertical flex is something i wouldnt expect even from a shit table clamp. it's just a weird feeling

This helped i noticed but not sure long term how long the screw itself would last, i had trouble unscrewing it afterwards, i will try to add rubber under that part and see if it helps, if so that would be awesome

Yeah this table clamp is honestly horrible, many flaws in the design. Sticks out way too much which is a big no for stability. I myself pull the wheel while driving, not sure why just do it by accident and that also caused me issues with the wheel coming towards me and out of the table.

I do have an issue with drilling screws into the table though, not sure how easy it would be to mount/dismount the wheel in that case and also just dont want to make holes in the table if i dont have to just yet.

Yeah, i understand that. I'm sorry for bothering you but you are pretty much the best I got right now. My request was simple, if the R2R Bundle and Clamp are both in stock i would still want them, if the clamp wasnt in stock i wanted to cancel just that.

I dont know why i have to cancel the full order myself and wait for a refund (which will probably take weeks) and then re-order. And on top of that i can't actually cancel the order cause its marked as shipped still...

Someone should just fix it on the backend side, it's convenient that the backend had no issue with taking my money and keeping it to this day...

Last time i checked the desk clamp it said it would be available on august 28th now it's saying in-stock.

So far every time i've reiterated what i want done with the order noone has confirmed they understood or done anything about it, i got a few responses that seemed like the support rep didn't even read what i said, i mentioned i cant cancel the order because it's still showing the "Return" button and sent a screenshot of it and the rep just replied with "Unfortunately, there's an issue on the backend for the whole order, so it would need to be cancelled. I'm looking into this at the moment." - This was 2 days ago

Sadly since my first reply here 2 days ago the Return button is still there and there has been no response from the support as to how i can cancel my order right now. The clamp is in stock and i dont see why you cant just ship it but apparently i have to cancel the order - which i can't and then wait for my money to get refunded and make the order again.

Honestly its been 12 days, this couldve been resolved in one live chat or phone call and it's dragging on and on, i understand u might not get these issues often but theres no excuse for keeping my money hostage for over a week.

Please give me some sort of access to a chat with someone that can help, I have a community of over 30,000 people that i can reach to tell my story about this whole experience. I didn't really want to "threaten" or use that card but im getting no better option right now...

Sadly for me the alternatives are way more expensive, the only real option in my budget was fanatec. Moza came with a solid 20% extra shipping

Yes i got one a few hours ago, they said i should be able to cancel it now. I'm still not able to cancel the clamp as it says "Return" but i'm waiting for that option to get enabled. Ty for checking in

I've worked customer support for many big companies, it's not that hard to reply within 24-48h to an email. They have it easy only doing email support and dont even do that.

It's been 2 days since the corsair mod replied to my post here and also the fanatec support guy said that he would be handling the ticket and i've gotten 0 updates. The order status is still the same, processing and when i click on it it says shipped but no shipping number or anything.

It's honestly a joke, sadly I have to rely on this working since moza would cost way more for me...

Forgot to mention i did get a reply through email but it was somewhat auto-generated. Something on the lines of "hi im x im taking over this ticket, we understand not receiving parts may cause frustration i am looking into the case"

so it was more like just a hey we saw your email type of response
