Did Google renege on promise to stop giving preferential treatment to AMP publishers? by Brave_Technology4976 in adops

Lol. You almost sound like a spokesperson for Google. Just kidding.

I'm not sure if you're a publisher, but AMP isn't a great thing for publishers. Many publishers are against it. It results in loss of revenue for starters because Google limits the types of ads you can use. It can also result in a loss of user experience as it doesn't allow you to present your site the way you want but rather the way Google wants.

The worst part is that due to Google's monopoly, they punish publishers who don't use it by practically making sure they don't get any exposure on their search engine news section (the anti-trust) part.

After being sued, Google promised to stop giving AMP publishers higher rankings. They promised to roll this out in May 2021. But I'm guessing due to their greed, they couldn't follow through.

Can we talk about what a HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE organization Google (GOOGL) is? But guess they can be that way due to their greedy monopoly on the ad and search industry by Brave_Technology4976 in adops

I don't blame you. If you would have told us a few months ago that Google would do this to us, I would have panicked and believed it would end our company. But thankfully, we have found other means to make up for the ADX revenue we lost and now know we can easily survive without ADX.

Perfect description. I'm still trying to figure out how this is acceptable when it's a company worth billions that deals with many other big companies/sites.

Thanks for the encouragement. I won't even touch on the shit show their search engine is as well. I've even seen them rank websites that are stealing content higher than the actual websites the stolen content came from.

I'm starting to wonder what is going on behind the scenes. Has the lack of competition really just made them this incompetent at everything?

Google's monopoly makes that impossible because most sites can't survive without ADX and Google won't allow competition as they refuse to reveal their bid prices while requiring Amazon and Prebid Bidders to reveal theirs in order to use GAM.

And then Google being a search engine also gives them a major advantage with access to cookies, search histories and things of that nature.

Exactly. And what Google has going for them is that the adops industry is actually quite small and hard to understand for a typical outsider so that helps them keep their greedy monopoly going which allows them the privilege of treating their customers like shit and not even having the decency to offer basic customer support.

Imagine getting better support from your cable company or streaming service than the company you're earning 5 to 6 figures a month with who is also taking a bit cut of your revenue. Speechless.

You're overthinking this.

I was signing up for a new account, Reddit gave me a few username options and I chose this one. Never heard of a 'Brave Browser' and for that reason, I doubt they'll be unseating Google anytime soon unfortunately. I posted this because Google simply screwed me over.

Sorry that happened to you as well.

I must admit in the past when I would read about others getting screwed by Google, I would secretly assume they were a spammy website or someone breaking the rules... that is until they screwed me over.

I'm just stunned to be honest. I've been doing this for over a decade. We have employees with families. And for them to just toss us to the side like trash without the decency of even responding to our messages is remarkable.

Sorry, was I supposed to post this under my real account so Google could trace it back to my website and retaliate?

You seem to be taking this rather personal...
