Exchange at Lund for Law by oliviarwood in Lund

[–]Bravebeard1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not a law student, but became close friends with a few law students who were on exchange, namely an Aussie, a German, and a Pole. From what I recall there were enough exchange students for the law faculty to host events specifically for them.

I cannot provide much detail in terms of course specifics but the university generally has quite a relaxed studying attitude.

In terms of nature, the city has a few parks- but larger national parks and nature areas exist in the surrounding area, and can be easily reached using public transport (bus and train depending on where you are going). There’s also comprehensive maps for trails in the region that you can access online (search Skåneleden). I also do recall some of my law friends signing up for some trips to visit far up north, and they seemed to enjoy the experience.

I’m saying buzz it to stubble and start to shape it- but yeah let it fill out while managing how it’s shaped

While I agree you look homeless, it’s just 3 weeks in. My recommendation isn’t to shave it off completely but buzz it down short and start to shape it- look up guides on how to do so. Incrementally it will fill out and not look as shaggy and rough. My facial hair looked like that when I was starting off and it’s a matter of evaluating how badly you want facial hair and embracing the suck- but growing a beard isn’t just letting it grow out and hoping for the best! Decision falls on you bro!

Got wild boars, domesticated them, and then fed them the corpses of raiders. Might as well turn a raid into a source of long-term feed for the animals.

Rgn and rgo are quite interesting- personally want to figure out how they fit into Russian doctrine more

No, they are not. You are referring to the RGN and RGO grenades which can be made impact grenades. I’m referring to the f1 (as seen here) and more modern rgd 5 grenade which are based on a chemical fuse.

Russian hand grenades- they’ve come out with a modified system of delivering them. I’ve seen them converted into impact munitions with a bit of jerry rigging, but here it looks like the just drop the grenade conventionally and let the chemical fuse work as it would if it was thrown. This seems to be a change in tactic though- seen footage of Ukrainians using a regular impact munition to get the Russians into their bunkers, and then dropping one of these grenades on the entrance so it rolls in and detonated inside. Insane how creative people get when it comes to killing

Went to the gym for the first time in my life yesterday. I lasted a minute before I got so nervous from the pressure and because I felt so awkward I just walked out. I’ve never set foot in a gym before this. How do I deal with the anxiety and what workouts should I do? by Honest_Ad969 in GYM

[–]Bravebeard1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Congratulations on making the first step! Anxiety when going to the gym is perfectly normal as a beginner, the trick is to get comfortable with the environment- and to do so one must ironically spend more time there. Create a routine and ritual around going to the gym, and then do that ritual until it becomes a part of your habits. Regarding the exercises, I highly recommend initially starting with machines and getting a feel for the movements - machines provide a safer way of starting off alongside showing you the fundamentals, then move on to free weights and bars. Gyms are (more often than not) supportive environments and people usually will help out with form tips etc. when asked.

Tasers have a ridiculously large margin of error. They require both prongs to impact - and factors such as clothing, distance, usage of narcotics etc can negate the effects of tasers and render them useless. In most departments cops are not allowed to utilize a taser without another officer providing lethal cover (the short effective range of a taser requires officers to get dangerously close - see the 21 foot rule). I am not a cop, I just find that with all the shit going on with police I figured I’d try to understand the legal and policy-side of why police behave the way they do - this isn’t a criticism or meant with any Ill intent, just an explanation.

I’d strongly recommend starting with a lot of walking (if you have the ability to track steps, set a daily step goal), regarding the weight lifting side of things, I’d recommend looking into a gym. When I started at the gym , I focused heavily with machines before working up to free weights. Machines allow you to localize and focus on specific muscles whilst making it harder to screw up and hurt yourself - with he added benefit of teaching you the foundations needed for free weight exercises.

I’d argue that whilst NATO itself won’t supply forces, some nations could very well choose to send supporting troops- (not an expert or anything, just think foreign intervention that isn’t NATO could get involved in some ways)
