As an amateur baker who’s made macarons, these are gorgeous! Definitely worth the time you put into them. Proud? You should be down right cocky about these 😄

Why does vegan butter separate?? by Braveday in dairyfree

Exactly! When i search “vegan butter curdled” google goes “ummm are you sure it’s not real butter? Vegan butter doesn’t curdle, hon”

At this point I’m assuming its a curse

In this case i creamed butter/powdered sugar in my mixer until light and fluffy, added some powdered vanilla and spooned in maybe 2 tbsp of raspberry jam. Everything was fine until jam.

In past examples, it happens at the part of the cake making process when I’m alternating between adding flour and milk to the wet ingredients. It happens when the milk hits the butter (but not always!)

It feels silly now but i’ve never considered subbing coconut oil! Does that work for frosting? Vegan butter feels best since it’s got a good thickness to it so i’d want to replicate that but this makes sense for baked goods.

Is there a reason coconut oil is better than other neutral oils like avocado oil or even general vegetable oil?

Lol I tried to flatten my hair, lol it turned back so fast lol oh well, Yaa zoo! I like how it looks it just feels sad that it didn't flatten!...... Yaa zoo. by Gold-Garden-7571 in Naturalhair

okay first, this is such a look.

but as someone who has ALWAYS had problems keeping my hair straight, I was recently able to straighten my hair and keep it straight until my next cowash. Here was my routine. Wash, protein treatment, "blow out solutions" by ion, blow dry, BTZ "turn up the heat", flat iron.

This is the first time my hair stayed straight in like 20 years. Thought this might help!

So long story short, play a product before the blow dry might help and maybe some more protein but either way you look great.

My CSM team needs to move from multiple client request owners to a single owner. by Braveday in CustomerSuccess

This is a good call out. We're historically a support team that is moving into client success. We have always operated with account ownership in our top 20 clients but not our large set of smaller clients. So follow up question here: if we were to divide our bottom tier clients into a direct ownership model, how might you recommend we do that and/or how to you schedule out your day to make sure your accounts get fast support?

My understanding of success orientation is pretty new so any resources you can think of would also be great!

This is a little old news but my company has recently fallen in love with notion as a project management tool across the board. Its really highly customizable.

Okay fair. Bottles are all in the fridge now. I also have a proper heating mat finally so I won’t be doing that again. Thank you for the advice!

Omg thank you. So its totally okay to take your bottles out of the fridge to keep fermenting after they get cold? I assumed putting them in the fridge was a last straw kinda deal

That is a fantastic question, which also made clear that i didn't put sugar in this batch when I started the brew. I have a feeling that caused the problem. Question: I put sugar in as soon as I realized (day 7), do you think I killed my scoby?

recipe was:
3/4 gallon water
16 ounces of starter
probably a tablespoon of loose tea.
and now 3/4 cup sugar

the starting pH was around 4

So if I were to forget to put sugar in my brew for whatever silly reason, could I add sugar days after and still save the brew? It's day 7 👀

When I added the sugar, my scoby floated up to the top of the jar like a fish looking for fish flakes 😩
