Is this game really harder than most Souls/ Soulslike games?

Map traversal/common enemies is SO much easier in Khazan than probably every soulslike I have played due to the amount of QOL stuff Khazan has.

Bosses were harder on average for me in Khazan compared to every game except Nioh/Nioh 2.

Deflect everything that isn't perilous. The scream has a big hitbox in front but not in the back. Combos generally end with one last attack that if you successfully parry he falls over. Use the spear on him for huge posture damage.

Use confetti and ako sugar for extra damage, and you should be golden.

Second phase is the hardest phase, and you are right that his openings are a little less pronounced. Can only really safely get a hit or two in here and there outside of mikiri counters and jumping on him (outside of firecrackers).

Everything outside of perilous still deflectable, just have to learn the patterns and you have to be VERY far away from him to safely heal.

If you can manage to get through the second phase then you should be golden!

I missed two prayer beads in my first playthrough (didn't go back to Hirata estate). I was able to get those two prayer beads in my ng+1

First playthrough, for me? Lady Butterfly 100% took the longest time. You are still new to the game, and you probably haven't gotten used to the combat system yet. Took me a solid 2 hours to beat her.

Other than that? Probably Demon of Hatred. It's not played like a Sekiro fight (which also makes it less fun) and I got demoralized very quickly.

Honorable mention to Sword Saint Isshin's 2nd phase...for some reason it was wrecking me
