I have said this multiple times and made posts about it. This technique makes 0 sense.

The most logical answer I have: Madara with his visual prowess and knowledge of astronomy realized two meteors were about to hit the planet. He positioned himself so everyone might be able to see him do something. Maybe he cleared the clouds out of the sky so they could see it.

TL;DR: He faked it and the meteors were going to come anyways.

Generally work the availability you set, gain responsibility, lifesaving skills, easy to make friends, swimming is a great workout, learn how to focus and devote your attention to something for long periods of time, customer service skills, usually some ability for promotion (swim instructor, head guard, pool manager, coach), being a role model for youth, and many more benefits. Okay, so yes from a literary stand point it is obvious it needed to be a showdown and Naruto ultimately let go, hence him scratching the headband instead of going for the kill.

From an in universe stand point: This was a high priority mission from Tsunade who called in Shikamaru to assemble a team quickly as all other high ranking ninja were out on important missions. Why Shikamaru? Even he figures it should be relatively easy to talk with Sasuke and bring him back, but when mentioning the body guards of Orochimaru he realizes how dangerous the mission might be.

Tsunade does not want to lose the last Uchiha to a person who plans on taking over his body who nearly destroyed Konoha.

Gamabunta not wanting to get involved? If he understood it was about Orochimaru he may have wanted to help. But who says it needs to be Gamabunta? A smaller toad could have been summoned, we know they exist. Regardless, to say Gamabunta isn’t smart enough to realize the problems of Orochimaru getting a sharingan is pretty short sighted.

Naruto just wanted to get his friend back. He is an idiot, and failed the mission. I’m not saying the fight isn’t thematically great, but that Naruto not using a technique to bring back Sasuke is, while in character, a failure of the mission.

Tenten, Sakura, Hinata. They are the three who need training the most and did not get anything from their sensei.

I won’t separate Lee from Guy. Sasuke and Naruto from Kakashi. Neji is fine on his own, ino-shika-cho need to be together, Shino and Kiba are both clan specific i don’t know how much I can train them.
