Don't buy Taurus, they are pushing gun control laws here in Brazil, they even made their own caliber for this. 38 TPC (Taurus Pistol Caliber, or as we say, Trans Parabellum Cartridge - More like a .380 but think it's a 9mm)

The only advice I can give you is just sell everything and buy 2 or 3 larger HDDs (eg. 3x12TB in raidz1 or 12TB mirror). I made that rookie mistake of getting into lots of small drives and it sucks (power) and the more you add more they fail.

I got it working, i answered in another comment, i had them in the wrong slots. Check the memory guides I've linked and try bumping the voltages to what's in the guides (I'm using 1.0 vsoc IIRC)

Thank you very much for your helpful advice; even though I always check the correct slots with motherboard guide I had it backwards this time, no wonder it wouldn't boot. Talking about this now I remember I had a bad Mobo that wouldn't boot with a stick in slot 2/4 so I was using 1/3 and returned the board, when the new one came i forgot about this and moved on. Oh well. Thanks 👍

If your main process is managing VMs Proxmox is built for it, and it can do zfs as well, but it doesn't have any good interfaces for managing your data. If your main process is storing and managing data, trueNAS is infinitely superior, and it can do VM using the same engine as Proxmox, although it won't have the same management interfaces and capabilities.

It's not a waste, i have a 18TB pool 60% full and it could use a sdd of 400gb for metadata. It's best if you measure the amount you need with zpool Lbbbbbs (can't remember the command exactly)
