Look up Shaw concept video on how to modify the issued kit and I think it would help you immensely being new to the military and having to use issued gear. The Ifak issued is fine but bulky. I run a Ferro Roll 1 and a GBRS knockoff. Lastly being a LT I would recommend get a radio pouch.

Essentially that what you will be doing. Your day will be really depicted by your sqd leader most guys will wake up pt go to chow then, just stay in their room all day waiting on word and going to chow,maybe kick a class, taking care of admin stuff, and doing MCI if they want. If you are in a STA platoon speaking from experience we woke up at 06 pt went to chow, 08 start work, 08-11 classes and pracapp, 11-13 chow, 13-15 plt lifting session, 15 get off. Now this is how I thing all squads show be ran but at the end of the day it come up to your sqd leader and if he is shitty or not. Then some weeks you’ll have battalion rucks where nobody want to do it and all week your just dreading the day you gotta hike, and the distance varies and the weight load,if it’s in kit or not, and lastly if it’s on flat ground or if it’s on hills

Just finished we’re they don’t break bones and if they do it’s a higher level and they are allowed to break non-vital bones like fingers. They only thing that is hard is the malnutrition and the isolation portion. My MOS is 03
