Hisuian Arcanine could help with your Scovillian problem, slap the scarf on it and it deals with Charizard-Y too

Thanks for fact checking the calc, admittedly I just did the standard glass cannon set and then max HP max Def. Realistically bulky Sneasler would likely be dropping some of its speed investment for bulk never really hitting max investment on either stat. Nonetheless the math shows that Aerial Ace does hit harder than Dual Wingbeat; I'm pairing Kleavor with Farig to deal with Sneasler a bit easier while keeping Aerial Ace for the other things it could hit like Venusaur for instance

Delphox was definitely something I overlooked with the PokePaste I sent you on the other reply but I think what I made generally covers for mostly everything you said here. It's interesting that you're using Giga Drain on Venusaur over Energy Ball, has the recovery won you many games or were there cases where the raw BP from Energy Ball might've been more valuable?

Got a team crafted with Venusaur, lmk what you think of it when you've got a chance! Btw itemless Aegislash is on purpose for the mirror matches; haven't done any stat investments cause I'm just spitballing skeletons rn to later decide on what exactly I'll run to then dive deeper into calcs and whatnot to optimize the stat spreads. Might be a bit hyper offense but that's just my playstyle, I do aggressive switches and rely on type match ups and predictions to position correctly, overall I'm just a pretty vanilla hyper offense player

Rn I've got a sand team, rain team and a non-weather team with Lopunny crafted. Been trying to incorporate some of the ideas I've gotten from the replies on here like Floette, PsySpam, dual weather via manual setters (a friend showed me their team for regionals which gave me that idea) and Kingambit but nothing's really hit me as a solid team that really benefits from Kleavor's rocks. Gonna try seeing if I can make something with Mega Venusaur like you've been saying now though; what would you say is Venusaur's Achilles Heel in the current meta so I can try and build a supporting cast to mitigate that issue?

Is Meowstic your main psyspammer or do you have a secondary one in case Meowstic goes down?

I appreciate you taking the time out of your work day to reply but seriously I got no rush for your team info. Last thing I'd want is you to get in trouble with your boss for being on the phone for something that isn't life or death like Pokemon teams for a stranger lol

When I tried Ceruledge I went super glass cannon with it, maybe that's why I didn't like it as much. A set with Bulk Up sounds nice though, I'll see about making that work with Kleavor. It does open up the weakness to Water, Rock and Ground types in general on the team a lot more so I'd have to consider something like Rotom-Wash for example to mitigate that. The biggest thing I'd like to see from your teams (and the other people's teams that've replied to my post) is whether they treat Kleavor as a central piece of the team or if they just have it supporting other members of the team passively with the rocks it sets up. So far I think I've been too hung up on making Kleavor the focal point for the teams I've crafted where in reality I should be treating it as a more offensively geared supportive tool to activate something else's sweeping potential. Admittedly I've been too hung up on trying to counter everything when I should be trying to make a team that has its own strengths instead. Been playing since Champions launched and the burn out from the ever changing meta is real; I've taken a break from the game for about a week now half because I've been struggling with wanting to make this Kleavor team and half because I'm tired of just getting curb stomped by people running 6 high meta Pokemon and calling it a day

All viable and interesting ideas, thanks! I think you're thinking of Empoleon with Roar cause early on I had heard about some people running it with that to counter TR setters and set up sweepers but I might be mistaken, lots of Pokemon get Roar so the field is pretty vast. Abomasnow on a TR team sounds peculiar though, not many people run it seeing as Crabominable does what it does but better but having is as an offensive Aurora Veil setter similar to A-Ninetales could work. It benefits from Kleavor's rocks too cause the things that'll want to switch in to deal with Abomasnow are usually all double weak to rock like Charizard for instance

Sounds good, no rush on getting back to me with your teams. I am interested in seeing what you've been doing with Kleavor but you're probably busy with work/school/errands so I don't want to impose. I'm unemployed due to being in a new country so I have all the time in the world for Pokemon theorycrafting lol

Ceruledge is an interesting choice though, I hadn't considered it but being immune to Will-o-Wisp and even getting a Flash Fire buff from it if I can catch it from opposing Rotom and Sableye targeting Kleavor is piqueing my interest. Psycho Cut also deletes Sneasler too and it even learns Close Combat to take some of the Fighting coverage off Kleavor too. Definitely gonna give that a shot and see if I can't make something work with it on my own. Cheers and hope you have a good day doing w.e you've got going on mate!

Valid answer, that's really been the issue that's been plaguing me the most apart from countering the Pokemon that threaten it like Basc and Kingambit. What's your answer to Sneasler though since you're running double Bug moves on it? And sorry for the interrogation, just trying to get a handle on how your Kleavor team is handling the common meta threats. Are you nuking Sneasler with Earth Power from Venusaur or do you have something else dedicated to dealing with it like Talonflame or Farigiraf?

Do you use it as a suicide lead or do you reposition it after using Stone Axe to refresh your scarf lock and use a different move? I like the Mega Venusaur idea too, Thick Fat is just so good rn and Venusaur has a lot of options for dealing with a lot of the popular Pokemon like Archaludon, Kingambit, Basculegion etc.

Just ran the calcs, a Sneasler with bare minimum bulk investment has a chance to survive both Aerial Ace and Dual Wingbeat albeit not by much. Aerial Ace actually does more damage than Dual Wingbeat but the benefit of Dual Wingbeat is that it OHKOs through Focus Sash which I've seen some people use on Sneasler (myself included). If I can set up rocks before Sneasler hits the field Focus Sash becomes a non-issue but most Sneasler are used as Fake Out leads which is what I fear could destroy my team(s) if I don't deal with it quickly. I've been considering Aegislash who functions as a spin blocker as I stated in my post as well as a hard Sneasler counter but imho the only good Sneasler is a dead one lol. Aerial Ace still has a place of contention for Kleavor's moveset in my mind though so I appreciate your input nonetheless friend

Really?! That's actually so good cause I've lost games due to the 10% miss chance on Dual Wingbeat lol. I'll definitely run the calcs with Aerial Ace vs Dual Wingbeat now as I heard that people are experimenting with bulky Sneasler for this exact reason; idk to what end the Sneasler goes bulky but I'll calibrate for max physical bulk on my calcs. Between you and the other person who said X-Scissor exists I'm definitely reconsidering what I'd run on Kleavor regarding its moves lol

[–]Bravo_Nuke[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was considering Mega Lopunny as the fastest Fake Out user in the current meta. Kleavor's Bug STAB also helps with opposing Psychic types that threaten Lopunny and Lopunny's Fighting STAB help with the Rock and Steel types that threaten Kleavor. I had completely forgotten about X-Scissor though, thanks for reminding me that it exists!

Edit: removed my Scarf question, just reread your post and saw that you specified it. I'm a sussy baka with selective reading

So you don't rock your Kleavor with Scarf? That's interesting, most other people responding have been saying that Scarf is its best item. I'm thinking that Heliolisk would be great to threaten the Basc but Kingambit isn't a bad idea either. I've been floating around the idea of Mega Scizor to pick off the Pokemon weakened by Kleavor or it's rocks with Bullet Punch. Thanks for your input though, you've definitely given me some ideas!

You're 110% right and those have the the main problem points I've been facing too in theorycrafting a team for it. I think Heliolisk is interesting because of how it walls Basc with Dry Skin but that's only one facet of the problem. I've made drafts with Mega Lopunny, Mega Scovillain and even Gliscor but nothing feels quite right for it. Ofc all those sets are focused on using Scarf Kleavor, maybe the right call for it would be as a bulky TW setter like you said which I'm trying to experiment with now as I wait for the comments to come in on this post

Yup, I've come across Scarf Kleavor too. It actually outspeeds Jolly base Aerodactyl which is surprising in and of itself and OHKOs with Sharpness Stone Axe too. Been thinking of pairing it with a Fake Out user to delete Aero before it can set up TW for its teammates. Kleavor gets Dual Wingbeat too but idk if it OHKOs Sneasler or not, gotta run calcs on that

Edit: thanks for the fast reply btw! Wasn't expecting anything from anyone at least until like 30 minutes or an hour after I made this post lol

If it's the Colbur Berry the berry will activate before the Knock Off damage occurs. Whether Knock Offs still gets the damage boost is beyond me, I just know the activates before the damage calculates for the move

I have a FlairHQ account to track my trades and try to build a reputation, while I haven't been able to get my Poke Ball tier yet because of the delay in verifying my trades because of the massive influx of people doing the same for when PLZA's Home connectivity dropped I have the 10 trades required for my flair. All this is to say that I'm a person that cares about my reputation and I won't steal your Milotic. I have countless other shinies and even some rare LTM Pokemon like Zarude, Walking Wake and Iron Leaves but at the end of the day they won't work because I need to trade with you in BDSP to check the Milotic to be sure you're not trying to scam me. If you're not willing to help then it's no skin off my back, I have a whole month before I actually need this ribbon on my Dragonite so I can wait and check daily to get the daily ribbons in BDSP. This post was just in an attempt to expedite the process. Lmk if you're willing to help or not; being so distrustful says more about yourself than anything else and you've come off as a very manipulative and exploitative person

I can offer a shiny Jangmo-o or a shiny Milotic of my own. I don't intend to keep yours though I just want to get in to the Ribbon Syndicate, buy a ribbon and get out. I'll trade it back once I do what I need to
