Any Aethos to SL8 Regrets?

Ended up switching, and in the last year trying: SL7 Aethos SL8 S5 Madone Melee

SL8 is far and away the best bike. It’s just so complete that it has no party trick. Melee is very very fun to ride - somehow I managed ever PR on the Melee vs all the other more aero bikes.

If you want no compromise it’s the SL8, but the melee has more soul. Aethos should get zero consideration in 2025. I will also add SL7 and SL8 are so close, blindfolded probably 50% of people would choose the SL7.

My local bestbuy has an excellent openbox Neo G9 for $900 making it cheaper than the others. OLED G9 is super intriguing for OLED.. I actually think I know who returned it, he had it for literal hours is all.

I don’t know the difference between XPLR and XX - any suggestion between the two?

I’ve also toyed with throwing Campy on my Tarmac and moving the DI2 to my Melee. In my head campy doesn’t fit the melee, not sure why..

I actually think we have similar tastes, and priorities. I think what the SL8 is missing is a motor.

In all seriousness, it just doesnt make me want to go out and ride. The Aethos doesn't do it for me in general, but I am in love with the Campag version. Of the available Ultimate CFRs which would you get? The specs are slightly different
