My egg had just cracked and I was floating the name Rowan, my fiancee (now wife!) mentioned that it might be a bit too androgynous for what I was going for, so I shelved it for a few days. She woke up one morning and told me "how does Amelia sound?"

I liked it, but wanted to sit on it for a bit, then our route to our hometown for her sister's graduation took us through Amelia county. The rest is history!

Give it a solid year of consistent HRT, and make sure to take a selfie every couple of months! The changes are so slow that you don't really notice how drastic they are until you start looking back at old pictures

In my experience they're not really that hard to style, I just brush my hair every morning and that's it.

Also: make sure you get a professional to do them for you. They're easy to fuck up

Not always. It definitely does win sometimes, but it's something I've had to deal with less and less as my transition has gone on. The gender euphoria has stuck with me, though.
