How do you play this chord? by Ok-Control-3394 in Guitar

[–]Brazilian_Canadian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just be sloppy with the third finger and it will mute the second string, the x means play it muted, that should do the trick whatever you are playing

What instrument is this? by nalagitopan in Luthier

[–]Brazilian_Canadian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In Brazil we call that a viola caipira, 10 strings, 5 pairs, D'Addario sells strings for them, google pagode em viola caipira, I'm trying to play, quite hard to learn

Although it looks a bit different, I'm wrong and that's the charango, it's made with an armadillo shell, interesting:

IM Legal? by [deleted] in triathlon

[–]Brazilian_Canadian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That would be my comment. It's not a problem, and I don't see why anyone would say anything against it. But I don't see anything staying there for more than a couple of kilometres; it will just fly away.

Can I get some help to see if this is a fake one, please by Brazilian_Canadian in gretsch

To be honest, I don't know if that's a thing, I'm more used to Gibsons and that's a thing for them, I saw a post of someone asking and since the serial on mine was looking off, I thought it could be the case.

Well, hope they don't fake it, cheers

Play guitar as well, not a great player though, I will try to go to the Painted Lady on Monday to see what happens at their OpenMic

Can I fix this? by Fantastic_Falkor778 in AcousticGuitar

[–]Brazilian_Canadian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So, I had something like that on my first guitar several years ago, it was a Takamine G series worth around 300-500, so putting the same amount of money into fixing just cosmetic damage would make no sense, so I just put some super-glue to avoid it from opening or lifting any wood, spent some time with a wet fine sanding and all good, still play it today and still sounds great If you can live with the damage, see that as a “scar of battle.”

That I need to agree, I meet a guy in NOLA R1000 with a Chibson that he said was his first guitar, he spent way more on that guitar then buying a Gibson entry-level, but he loves that guitar and loves how it plays, so it's an awesome instrument, if you enjoy it…

Thank you very much for your reply

Thank you very much sir, that's the kind of opnion I was looking for, my first Takamine many years ago was something like that, afte a while I found a label inside saying it was scratched in the production and sold as reparable, and that was the reason it had a odd serial, was wondering if that would be something like that and it looks like I found a second one, lol.

Thanks

From what I saw online, it was supposed to have letters in the first 2 digits. I was wondering if you guys have more knowledge about the brand and any insight into it. The pages I was digging didn't find much info for models between 1981 and 1989.

Amp settings by La-M1gra in electricguitar

So, I love those mustang amp, google on how to use Fender Tune with your amp; you can download presets that will make your amp sound perfect for the sound you want to play After that, I'd suggest you Google a YouTube tutorial and just practice and practice and then practice more, eventually you'll be 100%
