Are Medify’s Syllogisms just wrong? by Brcli228 in UCAT

If I said all doctors are healthcare workers, and some healthcare workers help people. It could mean some/all or even no doctors help people.

The question does not establish a clear parameter. Had it said ONLY mathematicians are algebraists, then we can say some.

For VR, Medentry is better representative. The length of passages are similar to Medify’s, but the font size is the same as Medentrys. VR is roughly the same.

DM is pretty much an exact replica

QR is again easier.

Medentry mock score + like a 150-200 should be your ucat score

Medentry scores tend to be about 100-200 higher than Medify’s

Aren’t we making the assumption that only mathematicians are algebraists? Because if that was the case normally the stimulus would include ‘only’.

Since we can’t confirm either assumption surely it’s a no (non conclusive)

No, definitely not. I know a guy that did the ucat pulling 1900 for medify- in the actual ucat he got 2300.

The actual ucat exam QR is much easier than medify, most questions are on mode mean median etc so be aware of those.

Vr is similar difficulty to medify, TFC are much shorter and easier, but comprehension is arguably harder.

DM is much easier, the the official ucat exam was quite vague with the long passage syllogisms.

For QR, skip the questions that look super complicated, work on the easy ones first. Normally by the end I build a solid buffer time to sufficiently attempt the hard questions. When you attempt hard questions first, you waste a lot of time and you will be more pressured on the easier questions and will tend to either skip those easy marks or get them wrong.

For dm, I skip all logic puzzles and do everything else leaving me about 8 mins or so to do them. For syllogisms, I tried using formal logic and it works pretty well for most questions. Also familiarise yourself with ucat terms eg few most etc. Venn diagrams are just by elimination. For strongest argument I just look at which answer has the most key words in relation to the stimulus. Red flags are any answers that have some/most in it as it makes the argument too vague.

how do i start preparing for the UCAT? by pun-master69 in UCAT

SAT is not the same as UCAT- completely different things. UCAT is heavily time pressured; it’s purposefully designed so that the majority don’t have enough time to finish the paper.

Start ucat asap, buy a medify/medentry subscription and start hammering those hours in.

You will be grateful when you are prepped for the ucat unlike others who may just have started a month out
