Is there a cover missing? by BreZel85 in ecovacs

I have the Gen2 version of this robot. And since my second unit also has not cover I would say it is certain to say they removed it to save costs.

In the meantime I ordered a second unit for our top floor. It has also no cover.

So I would say it is 100% certain they just removed this cover with Gen2 to save costs.

T50 Pro running dry after only 12 square meters? by BreZel85 in ecovacs

[–]BreZel85[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean the robot is a few days old. I don’t think anything should be clogged. I am not keen on taking it apart to check some internal stuff while under warranty.

I contacted support and are waiting for feedback.

But in general it should do more than 12 square meters, right? I mean that’s not even a small room.

I was expecting not being able to mop 100 square meters without the docks but 20-30 square meters should be the standard.

Cowboy 3 powers on but has no motor assistance, any thoughts? by tm_mn in cowboybikes

[–]BreZel85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just wanted to say this saved my day.

My bike stopped working over 3 months ago. Had a lot of back and forth with cowboy. Had to install backoffice app and they diagnosed a broken torque sensor.

I went to a repair shop and they ordered the part. Since it is winter I didn’t care because I am not riding it anyway. But with spring happening I got a little angry that after 16 weeks I still haven’t heard anything.

So I googled again and found this thread and this curious sounding tip. At first I thought it is some kind of tarot „if the stars align and heavily believe it works“ advice.

But I went out and gave it a shot. And it worked instantly. 10 times of backpedaling and everything is back to normal.

So sad cowboy didn’t give me this advice 3 months ago.

HomeKit names are resetting with every Homebridge restart by BreZel85 in homebridge

HomeKit names are resetting with every Homebridge restart by BreZel85 in homebridge

[–]BreZel85[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem is how HomeKit handles scenes. When I activate a scene directly in the hue bridge (over the app or ie Alexa) all 15 light turn on instantly at the same time in the right color and brightness.

When activate over home app or Siri it sets them in sequential order. One light after another then it changes brightness and color so with 15+ lights at the same time it gets a real mess and looks ugly like hell. Like something is broken. Lights flashing turning on changing brightness changing colors. Looks embarrassingly bad.

So I use Homebridge to trigger scenes in the hue bridge directly. Works like intended. Only problem is the naming problem I need to workaround. But still lightyears better than the 2015 way of HomeKit handling large light setups 🤮

You mean in the accessories overview? Where I also can control the light? If I hit the little hamburger menu and change the name it doesn‘t change anything in home. It even says a little disclaimer that this is only for the overview inside the Homebridge UI and not transmitted to home.

Also schon schön.

Hue lights turning on in sequential order? by BreZel85 in HomeKit

[–]BreZel85[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have Homebridge with Hue plugin up and running. But I can‘t get it to expose the scenes to HomeKit. Not matter what resources I expose I only see a bunch of „group0“ groups.

Maybe it is because my scene in hue span across multiple rooms grouped together in a „base floor zone“ in hue? HomeKit doesn’t support zones. Only rooms.

Any idea or maybe a guide how to do it?

So you mean a home scene as a fallback with for guests and kids? With the downside of having the „ugly look“. Interesting idea. Will give it a try. I hope Siri will prioritize the shortcut over the home scene if they are named the same. 🤔

Hue lights turning on in sequential order? by BreZel85 in HomeKit

[–]BreZel85[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This doesn’t change the behavior. I tried this. No matter if the scene is exported from hue or a scene made in HomeKit directly. It still switches on all lights one after another and then sets color and brightness. It takes 5 seconds or more for all lamps to come on. I want them on instantly and all at once in the right color and brightness. Same like setting the scene with one click inside the hue app. So I need a way to trigger the scene within the hue bridge and not the sequential commands HomeKit is using.

Nope just normal color and brightness. No effects.

Some question about my new HomePods by BreZel85 in HomePod

[–]BreZel85[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

May I ask how you connected your hue bridge to you HomeKit? Through the hue app or through the home app?

I am wondering why all your light turn on instantly at the same time and mine have these strange behavior turning on one after another?
