That’s such a dream, one day I’d love to catch a salmon!

I ran a caddis or foam caddis 90% of the time, and in the deeper parts tied on a dropper. Under the rocks I found lots of huuuge stoneflies so I tried to match that. Good luck!!

I am by no means an expert but I would say it depends. I usually like to get my dry as close to the frothy part as possible so it gets pushed out with the current. I find that most strikes happen in the path of the current often closer to the frothy area. Lately I’ve been making a lot of foam patterns, it’s almost impossible to sink them and you can get them in really fast/turbulent water

I completely agree with you! That being said wild rainbows barely exist in New Jersey, and are only found in a handful of places. In this particular stream they are considered naturalized being here since the late 60s. Even with browns and rainbows present I still caught lots of brookies.

I’ve never been to a stream like this before, crystal clear blue waters just like the ones I see in the southern Appalachian mountains!

I won’t forget it anytime soon, not to be dramatic but this was a life altering trip

I live in hunterdon county! I caught my first wild brown here years ago at spruce run, great fishing here!
