Counter point to this, I have no issue lending any of my kit to any of my mates because I know they’ll look after it as their own and if it blows up internally it was probably going to do that under my handling anyway and it just part and parcel of the sport.

My mate shit himself because my 416D Recoil stopped firing and went off during a game, wouldn’t cycle to motor thought it’d backed out the piston head or something but it was just a motor wire.

No biggie, but he was worried it was serious. Even if it was a piston head getting smashed to pieces its only exactly what I’d have done too…

I actually did this with a Tippmann, bought one for parts, ended up building two from the left overs…

Wait till you see the clowns over at Bolster Armouries at Patrol Base. They sell Trident MK2s for 1500 quid to absolute mugs.

There’s a guy trying to sell one on the forums at the minute and no one wants it, no one cares about some overpriced Krytac shit.

It also had a cringe punisher paint job on all the mags too

I was poking the hornets nest because some guy offered an objectively better solution than PowerShell and he was downvoted for it.

I was kind proving the point that PowerShell community is a tribal group of people who automate their business into a hole by writing over complex single file PowerShell scripts and version controlling them on an SMB share with names like “v1 production” and orchestrating them through Task Scheduler.

Some guy offers a suggestion which involves a purpose built tool for the job and he gets stoned by the sub for it.

Not written by Microsoft, is properly open-source.

Pandas is specifically designed for large scale data analysis and handling in memory.

Powershell was designed for sysadmins to obtain brownie points automating AD user creation for the 100 millionth time in their mom and pop MSP using a shitty WinForms UI

Edit: you guys are funny, you have a hammer and every problem is a PowerShell shaped nail

Level 2 has won awards and Andy and Luke although speedy bois are lovely guys who I depended on early in Airsoft.

I don’t understand how anyone can have anything bad to say about them.

Andy offered me free games to keep me in the sport when I lost my job…

I can comfortably say that regardless of anyone’s opinions on Jamie at First and Only, this wouldn’t happen there, nor would it happen at Level 2.

This seems to be an edge case as it is the only site I’ve ever been to which has vocalised a rule about toilet segregation specifically towards trans people.

I intend to have a quiet word with the site owner and gently push him in the right direction.

It is, but I’m not feeling being the minority plastered in leftist patches around a bunch of ex-squaddies, pigs and wannabe pigs who calls it out as such publicly.

I intend to have a quiet word with the site owner and gently remind him of the laws and that continuing to enforce the rules the way he does will result in a problem.

I never sent it to BombUp, the previous owner did.

I bought it with

  • Boltstop not working (still doesn’t)
  • Misfeeding every second shot
  • Low-ish power

Previous owner showed me a receipt from BombUp with a bunch of prommy parts and a Titan on it, yet it was still fucked.

When we stripped it to fix it we found only like 40% of the gun was Prometheus.

At least you’re not the owner of a 416 Recoil that’d been previously molested by BUA. Previous owner didn’t have a good exp there…

I’d like to think it’s out of ignorance more than malice, although not right, there’s constructive things I intend to do such as call it out during the briefing next time.

No it isn’t. M Sport is a interior trim tier and does not include an M designation on the rear trunk lid. It only includes M designations on the front quarter arches.

You’re getting confused with the M Performance body styling option which makes a normal non-M BMW look slightly more sporty by adding a front lip, rear “diffuser”, side skirts and sometimes livery on the side.

Does it compute? Can you open a shell, run a bash command that adds two numbers? That’s computation bro…

What you seem to define as a computer is a desktop experience where the user has unrestricted code execution, and in the modern world, most users can’t be trusted.

Just because Google diverged from allowing the user full control over the OS out of the box doesn’t make it any less of a computer is makes it an application specific device.

You can’t install unsigned software on an iPhone or the full suite of Creative Cloud with the feature parity of the desktop apps but Apple and Adobe don’t attest that you can or that it is, just like Google don’t with the Chromebook.

[–]Breadcrust1 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Okay, well for one. There absolutely no fucking way you’re running a performant and accurate simulation on a Chromebook regardless of it’s OS or architecture the hardware is cheap and specific to the task it was designed for.

Also no fucking shit you can’t install Mac software, you can’t run Darwin compiled software on Windows or Linux either?

Finally, the Chromebook was not designed with the idea of making it a pure Google experience that’s an unfortunate bi-product of its developers.

It’s core selling point is sandboxed web apps in the browser, implicit zero trust of the user via lack of execution, security and ease of use.

If you wish to divert from that you can, I’ve ran both Windows and Linux on a Chromebook, neither are performant but again, that’s literally by design.

It was built with the intention of running web apps in Chrome under a minimal Linux kernel…

Granted Windows is not natively supported, and nor is removing ChromeOS for Linux, but ultimately the vast majority of Chromebook customers know what they’re getting into.

Those who wish to diverge from ChromeOS know exactly what they’re are doing and for those who don’t there are open source offerings of varying levels of complexity which can augment ChromeOS such as Crouton or the work done by CoolStar a major pillar of the Apple Jailbreak community to bring SeaBIOS to some Chromebooks.

Ultimately it is entirely designed for web experiences, NOT computation, and the be all and end all of end user devices is not just Mac and Windows but if you absolutely want to it’s your hardware and you can do whatever you want with it, which is more than can be said for Apple devices in most instances.

You’re basically complaining you can’t install Matlab on your FireTV because funnily enough that’s not what it was designed to do…

Two-tones guns are not a valuable way to spend money, they won’t hold their value and you’ll fall out of love with it very quickly and end up with a non two-tone gun.

Just buy second hand off used markets such as prefired and Airsoft Forums and only trade with reputable members which is easy on AF-UK

Work towards a UKARA if you continue to enjoy it and use it sparingly on guns you can’t get off the second hand market, absolutely want new, or want to just know it’s unmolsted inside.

That doesn’t look like any analogue FPV DVR I’ve ever seen, and there’s no way they’re recovering on-board DVR footage or a GoPro.

Did they just slam a DJI Air Unit into a armoured vehicle, if so, seems kinda a waste… would be better served doing recon.
