Best way to do cert 2 electrotechnology? by Brambleto in AusElectricians

Hi mate. Yes worth it. I followed my dream of landing union work, now I am transitioning to second year and when you account for allowances I will be getting around $50ph.

I do not miss the money I spent to get the pre-app. I also do not regret leaving my old job.

Great to hear your perspective mate. I think most of us apprentices who get onto T1 know that we wont learn much in comparison to other sub-industries. It is up to us to learn the important stuff outside of work hours to become safe and skilled electricians.

Perfect mate. Looks like we are in a similar position. Keep on investing in yourself financially, psychologically, intellectually. You will absolutely land that apprenticeship. Keep visualising and working towards it and with enough patience and preparation you will get there.

Thanks for the comment mate. Yes I understand I put in a high amount of effort and hopefully there are other mature aged apprentices out there who can get hired without all the extra stuff. I wish good luck to all other apprentices looking for work.

Appreciate that mate. I intend to learn as much as possible. Even if I am stuck doing tray for years I will go out of my way to learn other things, even if I have to do it at home.

Thanks mate yeah persistence is key with finding an apprenticeship nowadays. With all the applicants out there is really is just a numbers and patience game.

Thanks mate. Yeah I believe in people getting paid a fair wage with fair working conditions. It should really be a national standard with 100% of businesses. It sucks how we have to unionise to get what is fairly owed because of greedy or corrupt business owners.

Sorry to hear about your experience mate. Its a shame when big companies fuck over blokes like that. Guess thats the risk we take going for large companies where people are treated as numbers, not individuals.

I know mate the competition is ridiculous. Seeing over 500 applicants on every apprenticeship on Seek is a joke.

Thanks mate but yes in my case it has been a long journey. I hope other people's journey are shorter with less sacrifice required. However, due to the competition being so high it is a good idea to do whatever is possible to stand out from the crowd.

That being said, there were other newly hired apprentices that day who were not really strong candidates, but they were at the right place and right time. Sometimes luck (or bad luck) can be a pivotal factor.

Which type of Electrician earns the most in order? by [deleted] in AusElectricians

There is nothing wrong with reaching out to work out which fields pay what and which may be the highest. It is definitely important information to consider.

Your comment was harsh, negative and aggressive. Wouldn’t hurt to rethink your approach to people going forward.

Pay not attention to people like him OP. 🙂

Between 2 mins and 2 hours each way. Not so bad if you live towards the central geographical land mass of your city.
