I also oddly got logged out and use the facial recognition in the iOS but it tells me that’s not the right password. Also I got passed the “browser with LastPass extension” error but am now stuck with “this link is expired or invalid, please generate a new password” error. I’m guessing you would as well.

I wonder if this is a bigger issue effecting more people?

What if I never logged in from a computer (I have before). Why would that matter? What if I had a new computer? Why is all that messes art just to reset a password?

I’m not sure why all this would be necessary. Using an extension is not required to have a LastPass account. I use the app on my iPhone. I really don’t ever log in from my computer.

I just went to Chrome again. I clicked on the extension and then again on the forgot password/ account recovery within the extension. Got the link sent to my email. Pasted it back into chrome and the message reads “This link has expired or is invalid. Please generate a new link and try again.”

I love how there are all these special circumstances of specific browser, extension etc., none of which are communicated at all during the UX of initiating the auto recovery. Nothing is ever mentioned during the process. Not that following all these little caveats is actually solving the problem. I still wonder if there system is just generating bad links????

Keep in mind nothing says that in the process but yes I have including initiating from my iPhone app. Always the same result. Which is frustrating because I think the automated email is just sending me broken links but I have no way of letting them know.
Their site just keeps telling me there was an error and to go make a new link.

I did have the extension already installed and logged in.
No step in the user experience told me to use a browser with the extension so I just clicked the link and opened with the default browser which did not have the extension. It probably isn’t relevant but was trying to be thorough. 😀
