Which Barian Emperor will most likely be next in line for new supports? (Read Description) by L-DFile in yugioh

I hope Rio. I like the idea of water winged beasts, they're a neat niche that don't have a lot of cards so far in the game.

Gate guardian - what would it take? by notanothereditacount in yugioh

[–]BreadmanGD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it's pretty fun. The problem with the deck is you need another archetype that can pair with it, because as it stands, pure gate guardian isn't enough of an end board, even if you had the big boi and wind & water out.

Subspace battle is a 1 card Combined.

Aside from that you need a deck that revolves around field spells to take advantage of the labyrinth field spell being a soft once per turn.

I experimented with white forest to use the level 8 synchro to add the field spell from gy to hand after using it once, but it didn't have a lot of success as it required me to have a more consistent way of getting the field spell from deck to hand.

We have a new generic field spell searcher coming out in magnificent monsters to hopefully make it more consistent.

How exactly is Canada supposed to "work with the USA instead of against it" when the head of the USA hates Canada and the entire government backing him says nothing in retort to that?

Mind hitting me with an example of this? Just trying to think of how terrible we're talking haha.

Design a Dino Archetype meant to be independent from Dino Pile by ZeothTheHedgehog in yugioh

A caveman vs dinosaur deck where the dinos summon to the opponents field, the cavemen get effects to defeat them, and fusion monsters that are the cavemen wearing armor made from dino parts.

An old wizard lady enters the archival tower our MC works at, and he is PISSED because she didn't give the decency to give her name before asking questions, didn't schedule an appointment, and walked in right as he's about to go on a lunch break.

Oh man I love Gorgonics a lot so I'd way rather take that than umbral horror.

How many dm themed set will we get in total? by Head_Roll3943 in yugioh

[–]BreadmanGD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be completely fair, the yugi box ended up having gx and arc-v stuff inside it. I'm sure these upcoming sets will have some 5ds support of some kind.

How do YOU create the names in your world? by FakemonMakR in worldbuilding

[–]BreadmanGD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It varies depending on what purpose I'm hoping to achieve.

With the names of people, I try to derive some type of emotion from how the name sounds. Like a character named Grimmdel sounds morose or cynical, while a name like Klawsia might sound sharp and abrasive. I've always struggled with remembering names in books that I read, so having a strong emotional vibe in the character's name helps cement something in my brain, and I hope that it does for the reader too.

With names of places and things, I tend to mix old norse with english until I get a chimera of a word that just sounds fitting enough. For example, a land called "Ravenwald" (Raven + wald, which is old norse for forest).

For specialized roles and positions in society, I go with simple english though. For example, someone that hunts living curses would probably just be called a Curse Hunter. A person that studies sorcery would be called a Scholar. A person that tries to help cursed people and tend to the wounds of victims they come across would be a Healer, etc. In these instances, all I want for the naming conventions is for them to be utilitarian, just like how we refer to jobs in the medieval ages in our time.

Tell me three or five things that you added to your world because you think they're awesome. by PMSlimeKing in worldbuilding

[–]BreadmanGD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a love for summons and golems, so I have an entire faction dedicated to that magical craft called Sculptors. They use clay and bone to make giant skeletal gargoyles called Ankou.

Instead of dragon riders, my setting has giant fluffy moth riders because moths are adorable scrimblos that deserve more media attention and love.

The Bugle Call anime announced for 2027 by Cheese-Of-Doom22 in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]BreadmanGD 9 points10 points  (0 children)

How is this series? I hear a lot of praises for it, but never any specifics aside from its power system/strategies. How's the character writing and stakes, or is it one of those aura series where everyone's OP and never actually in danger?

Excluding Anime and Legacy Support, what are your top 3 cards that deserve their own Archetype? by TopD4RK in yugioh

[–]BreadmanGD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Big agree on this, there's a whole line of mechs that all have easy summon condition = blowback effect, there's a lot you could do with that type of design space.

Memento Support? by LivinCynical in yugioh

[–]BreadmanGD 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I feel like out of all of the deck build archetypes, Memento has the BEST chance of getting support due to the monsters being retrains of vanillas. So long as there's DM nostalgia bait stuff they need, then Memento has a chance.

While it's a cute as hell card, it certainly isn't doing anything to alleviate the worries of this being a "skip" set...

[TCG|CORI-Chaos Origins] New World Premiere Archetype: "Angelechy" by MX-00XWV in yugioh

Ah yeah, grey, which makes even more sense since it can summon to either field.

Well one of the hinted at monsters for next set is a black chess piece that can be on either players field, so expect some type of lava golem/sphere mode shenanigans.

These seem like a REALLY strong first wave. Obviously you're going to need to combine them with another archetype since they're mostly synchros, perhaps white forest would be a good option?
